He said if you are watching Fox news, you live in a different planet as the rest of America.
    Is that true?
What does that tell you about where America is now?
Fox news and Fox Business is the top rated cable news shows.
At a time when the media approval rating stands at 36%, below that of Trump.

I wonder is Fox news audinces living in a different planet or is the media it self?  They are putting themselves out of business with each fake news and corrections...

Our founders made sure we have a freedom of the press so that they can act as a watchdog over our government...
The bias of some media, that favors the Democratic party is astounding...
An ex President calling out nearly  half of the US population as out of touch just seems odd to me.
Perhaps, Mr. President, you are living in a different planet or at least a different country.
Our country was founded on freedom... and part of that entails the right to tune in to which ever news program that we choose.
Isn’t that a democracy? Let the free market decide winners and losers.

Just another sign that our politicians would prefer to insult the populace than unite them.

I'm sure he would be happy to unite us all...under the Democratic flag and that of socialism!

Do you think democrats all watch the same news outlets like the Trumpsters, Jack. Most from the right are afraid of watching or listening anything except Faux News because they are reluctant to hear anything they do not agree with. Most Dems watch several news outlets to get the true story, while Fox watchers listen to opinion folks like Limbaugh and Hannity to feel good about what they believe.

Unfortunately, all the rest are equally biased against GOP and conservatives. FOX and OAN are the exceptions.

What you see as bias is because of your own, Jack.

You have opened an interesting topic jackclee, I didn't know about the interview.

However, context is always important, and I wonder, if your point is taken in context would it carry the same meaning to you ?

Sorry for the cut and paste, but it does make explanation easier:

"5. He's worried about social media.
For a man who owed his own election largely to the power of social media organizing, Obama is increasingly concerned about the impact similar technology is having on our politics and on our elections...

...and I think what we missed is people in power, special interests, foreign governments etc., can in fact manipulate that and propagandize it."

But, Obama adds, the Russian government couldn't have manipulated the election if Americans weren't already so divided. "What the Russians exploited – but it was already here – is: We are operating in completely different information universes. If you watch Fox News, you are living on a different planet than you are if you listen to NPR."

He then tells the former late night host that "if you are getting all of your information off algorithms on a phone, it's just reinforcing whatever biases you have …. That's what is happening with these Facebook pages where more and more people are getting their news from. At a certain point, you just live in a bubble, and that's part of why our politics is so polarized right now. I think it's a solvable problem, but it's one that we need to spend some valuable time thinking about."

Notice the underline Jackclee, as a Democrat, of course he would pick Fox News for the example, but take his answer in full - and he's talking about all of us, not just Conservatives and Fox News watchers.

I think he makes an important point - one that I strongly agree with. And based on your past references to biased media, I think you do too.

He's right. We are suffering - almost all of us - from too much access to sources that confirm our biases. You say the same thing about MSM all the time. Can you see that that is the same thing Pres. Obama said?

Yes he makes an excellent point and recent revelations by Project Veritas exposed the invasion of privacy at Twitter and some of the unethical practices at that company behind people’s Back.
I would boycott Twitter except I was never a user.
It seems to me, social media, like facebook and search engine like google are capturing too juch of our personal data. They probably know more about us than we know ourselves. These big data can be misused for harm. I worry for our future as well.
These companies are mostly liberal progressive and globalist. Our country will not survive as we know it if this is expanded for another generation.
