Did the decline in the U.S. accelerate due to the reduction in cigarette smoking over the past several decades? Previously it was common amongst all classes, while now it is mainly confined to low-lifes and losers. Has the decline in smoking amongst the better classes (education, intelligence, achievement, etc.) led to a decline in their vigor? (No, I am not a smoker, and I know smoking is bad for health.)
