Is Obama the only President that Smoked?
Have there been other Presidents that made it no secret that they had an addiction to nicotine?
No. Many presidents before Obama smoked. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Ulysses S. Grant, Warren Harding, Lyndon Johnson, Howard Taft and John F. Kennedy were other presidents that smoked while in office. A few smoked and quit before becoming president. Furthermore, Ulysses S. Grant smoked so much he lost his life due to throat cancer and Obama is no longer a smoker.
No, quite a few have smoked especially in that period prior to the taboos of smoking hitting the media. I think the most recent one before Obama who was a habitual smoker was Lyndon Johnson. He didn't smoke in public but he smoked. I didn't count Clinton...although he used cigars, he didn't appear to be smoking them. WB
Keep in mind, "back in the day", most people smoked. It was considered fashionable and to be "the norm".
I knew the answer ExpertCLB. I really just used it as a conversation starter. Yes, I know that is what forums are for but I thought it would be fun.
OK detective L, splain to me why some folks live to be over 100 and smoked their whole lives. Just a judgmental idiot who has no business telling anyone ANYTHING. I'm sure you believe the second hand smoke myth too.
No i think most of the president in the world have smoked.
Do you just mean cigarettes? Bill Clinton smoked but did not inhale. Does that count?
Wow, he smokes? All that running and healthy organic vegetable garden have hefty competition. I suppose many of our presidents have smoked after all tobacco was brought to America as a fabulous thing to do when Columbus came here.
hm thats kinda wird i never seen president obama smok befor
lol but if he do thats kinda wrid but its his bisness not ours to jug others .
I did not know he smoked!
But, I bet many past presidents before 90s would have smoked as smoking is bad for lung was largely ignored in old days.
