Sadly no. The way people are today, fighting is going to go on forever unfortunately and it always has.

no. there will never be world peace because so many countries want to be the top-dog. also, due to cultural differences we will always have turmoil.

Peace will only come when there is true democracy in the world. True democracy means democracy without politics, politicians or political parties which are invariably funded by vested interest groups. Vested interest groups: like the banks or oil companies, bank-roll both sides at election time so - to them - it doesn't matter which party wins. Their man always gets in.

When we have direct rule by the people there will be no more wars. People do not start wars. Kings and presidents start wars for their own nefarious reasons. Get rid of them and we will have peace.

Not a chance that everyone would be able to fully agree on everything which is what it would take. People will always find an excuse to disagree and feel hatred towards eachother.

    No.
Because it is impossible to have peace in own home.
World is like big home for all.

As long as there is competition for scarce resources, differences of opinion of how people should live their lives, or what peoples' beliefs are spiritually, politically, or socioeconomically, then I see very little chance for world wide peace.

While one area of the world has reached relative peace there will be another that is just entering a state of war.

No....it is human nature to fight...animal instincts. Given our materialistic tendencies and constant need for resources, society couldn't continue without conflict. I'm curious to see what will happen when resources (such as oil) start to disappear in the future. So long as there is society there will be fighting.

Yes, world peace is possible, but it is not sustainable. If you read world history you will find periods of peace under a single ruler in an empire--Think Byzantine Empire or other such empires of antiquity. If there were to be world peace, then the world would be united globally under one rule with a single set of laws. Just imagine how the world would be if there were a global minimum wage and labor laws applied to all countries. Among other things, conflict arises out of competing ideals and religious associations. Conflict seems inevitable where one or more people share anything including the world.

Man made government will not bring peace, however Jehovah's Government will bring the result that so many of us desperately yearn for and want.

"And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;" Daniel 2:44

I think that our situation is getting worse, and the only way that there will be world peace is when something really bad happens and opens everybody's eyes!

It's part of the human nature to be competitive and in assotiation with the fact that different people will always have different ideas, I don't think it's possible.

There shall never be world peace, for there shall always be ignorance.

Honestly, the only way to achieve world peace is if everyone's desires are fulfilled. If people have conflicting desires then things won't really happen.

I really aspire for world peace but I think it is impossible. This is a pessimistic approach and it is not, in any way, geared to making people feel hopeless or what.

The next best thing is happiness. There will always be happiness no matter what and this is what we all aspire for. There may be wars and conflicts but I know for sure that there can still be something to be happy about in any situation.

    Yes.

I do believe that one day everyone will know that life is a path where we learn to live together peaceful without hatred. I have been teaching my kids about sharing and be kind. I believe it may takes time for people to do the same but it will come when everyone start to accept each others.

    This is a loaded question.

Just because there is peace in one area doesn't mean it is peaceful in other areas.  What's the saying?  In time of Peace, prepare for War.

It's Human Nature to conquer.  It's Human Nature to divide.

World Peace?  We don't even have "total" Peace in our own Country.  Such is Life when there is Freedom of Speech and Religion - even the Christians can't agree on how we should Worship and Praise

Yes, but we have to create it. It comes from individuals like us knowing what we want and being willing to go to bat for it. Not by taking from others, but by teaming up and creating new things - new products, new services, new visions, new ways of doing business, of treating each other, of governing ourselves.

It starts with us and radiates outward and upward. And once it gets going, nothing can stop it. They call it "the power of the masses."

When and If,enough people realize the truth behind the reason we go to war and who is really behind it and why they continually find reasons to go to war.

    1. Keep funding military, and those who manufacture weapons

    2. Keep people under control

    3. Competition for resources

    4. Competition for control within countries that  have an economic interest in.

    5. Using it as an excuse to take freedom from their own people as part of the war effort.

There are a lot of very positive answers but the final one I believe unfortunately is, The world will be at peace when there are no humans left to start wars.
