    Does something like 'superiority complex' actually exist?

    Most of the time people at superior jobs always let down their subordinates. what will you call it?

    yes...and also people experience a form of anxiety as a result of reverse superiority complex. When in the work area, you will find these people using this complex as a defense mechanism, which is hidden behind by them to erase the reality of their inferior complex, most often derived from low self esteem, or a character defect derived through some form of mental abuse as a child. I could elaborate more, but this would go on, and on. Neither am I a psychologist, so these answer come from my own life experiences.

    Superiority complex may exist, but that doesn't mean that superiority need be there. Often it is just bloated ego.

    Yes. People think that they are superior just because they acquire high status in the society.
