Could we agree that people can hold different opinions without being asleep, undeveloped, brainwashed, scared, or the like?
"Wake up people!" and such is a terribly meaningless and ineffective way of supporting a point of view.
The grow up part could be difficult for some not all.
Wake up...no political chit chat until after your fourth cup of coffee
Think for yourself: research, research, research.
Gosh, might be a hard road to go down...
"Grow up!" = Act just as immature as I am.
"Wake up!" = I refuse to consider the possibility that I may be just as trapped in some dreamland.
"You're brainwashed/irrational." = And I refuse to consider any proof to the contrary!
"You're scared." = I consider your opinion a threat.
"Think for yourself." = Agree with me!
Take it to them Val!
Why only 20% of Americans want to admit they are Republicans?
Refer to Valerie F Comments above.
You drank the koolaid! = You think differently than I do and you are an idiot
I forgot to include "get an education!" and "open your eyes!"
"Open your eyes" = I'm in the dark.
"Get an education" = My arrogance makes my ignorance better than yours.
Guess it is proven in all the comments how this works...
One can never change a person let alone their point of view..only when they are willing to do so. That is okay..sometimes it comes down to "I told you so.."
There is a Roman Maxim in Law which says...
"Let he who be deceived..be deceived..!!

President Obama made the statement last week at a fund-raiser that "facts and science and argument do not seem to be winning because we're hard-wired not to always think clearly when we're scared."Now is it just me or is calling the American voters stupid (don't always think clearly)...
