   I would eliminate ignorance from the world if given the opportunity. If a person is educated then they have the ability to know how to accomplish almost anything.

   I'd go for climate change.  It's a pernicious problem, because on the one hand, it seems as though it's a distant one:  though the warming we see is very, very fast by geological standards, it is quite slow by ordinary human standards.  It's easy to think that there will be time to deal with it.  But on the other hand, it's a 'back-loaded' problem:  like serious weight gain, or serious debt, or drug addiction, the initial stages seem like no big deal; it's only in the later stages that one can see how deep the hole is that we will have dug ourselves into.  And of course, there are many, many voices downplaying or even denying the issue because of fears that solving may hurt them economically.  But it's worse with climate change, because even if we stop emitting greenhouse gases, warming will continue for many years, due to gases already in the atmosphere.
   
   As to how we should tackle it, we first need to agree on mechanisms to include the costs of carbon pollution into our economy.  As it is, anyone can basically use the atmosphere as a free dump for most combustion by-products.  This is a huge subsidy for all fossil fuels.  Second, we need to accelerate the development of renewable energy sources.  It's already impressive; the costs have been dropping fast, and in some places are already competitive with fossil fuels.  And renewables are now being used in over 80 nations, with growth rates of 30% and more per year.  Yet there are urgent needs:  how can we more efficiently store energy, so that the intermittent nature of sun and especially wind can be 'smoothed out' to allow us to rely on them to a greater degree?  How can we best structure delivery of energy?  How can we use less without compromising our economies and life choices?

   First, I must say this picture/scene that you have posted in very disturbing! It touches my heart in such a way that hardly anyone could imagine.
   If I had the power to eliminate one major problem that would definitely be "war" specifically the daily genocides in all these poor countries. This could certainly be accomplished through an International Peace Keeping force who focuses on addressing the unjustified butchering of humans globally, irrespective of color, class or creed.

   I would eliminate "religion"..... EVERYBODY would be told to believe that THIS (mortal) life is ALL THEY ARE GOING TO GET.... so make the best of it..... (and)...
   
   ....Don't believe that you know something about imaginary friends that nobody else knows.... and that you know how to live life much/any better than anybody else... OR, that others should live their lives in the manner that you describe/prescribe.....

   I, too, would eliminate organized religion. It's the great divide on every level. It fuels war, ethos of enmity, ignorance, a lack of acceptance, and political power that should be left in the hands of the state--not in a place of worship. Are we not capable of finding our own moral compass, without being spoon fed by a group and its agenda.

    I can't believe getting rid of child abuse wasn't already said. In the USA alone there are 500,000 children who are in the foster care system each year. That's 1,000,000 parents who failed to do right by there child. There is no way to eliminate it because even if you could help the majority there will always be horrible parents who are good at hiding it. I would think though that if the punishment for raping, starving, beating (not spanking), or putting your child's life in danger was death many women would not produce children and many fathers would start using more protection.

    If I could wave a magic wand to accomplish it, I would eliminate war. Then humans would be free to focus all the resources currently used to maintain the military and wage war, instead to solve all the other problems like poverty, hunger and disease. But how to do this without that magic wand? I don't have the answer to that.

    my first answer was to eliminate poverty ... then i thought what causes poverty in one place and prosperity in another at the same time... why don't people share the wealth when they have it ... many words can be used which describe this behaviour (materialistic/greed/status...etc).... to include all the words i would say the "love of the world" is something i would like to eliminate ... although i don't think it's possible.

    I would eliminate "hate". If we all could see and accept each other for what we are many problems would be non existent. We are all born equal and our worth should not be determined by color, race, status or beliefs.

    Finding a consistent source of sustainable energy that is sufficiently economical to use, industry is willing to invest in it and promote it.  Unless we do this in the next 20 years or so, nothing else will matter. 
    
    This one issue will touch on everything else we have mentioned.

    I'd eliminate the United States Government using the US military everywhere to pollute the entire world.
    
    The United States Military isn't being used to defend the United States, and it is, in fact, the single largest entity responsible for more pollution across the planet than any other.

    I would have to say selfishness, and being self-serving.  God wants us to give what we have to people who are in need.  When He blesses us with money, He does it for a reason...not so that we can get rich, He does it so that we can in turn bless others, whether it is tithing your money to your church (and that money will help the people in your community who are in need), or sending money to Africa, Asia and other areas that are destitute.
    
    Even here in the U.S., Apalaicha is an area where people are in so much need of clothing, shoes, food, shelter.  Where I live, right here in San Diego County, you wouldn't believe how many people are homeless in my county!

    Money. It was created out of thin air, so it can just as easily disappear. Trade is a form of giving a little to get a little. Money is traded for food, water, clothes, vehicles, energy, fuel, weapons, and dwellings. It has posed a huge hardship on a lot of human beings. People living in the modern reality of this world, I'd say spend 90% of their time trying to earn money to pay for everything and have hardly any time to enjoy this Earth or their families. Everyday most people wake up go to work, come home, eat, and sleep only to do it all over again. Strange that 40 hours of work is completed over 5 days out of a work week, and 48 hours for the weekend is only 2 days. For some life revolves around working to pay money for 99% of the things we know of in life. If money were eliminated people could become self sustainable and self reliable. Just a thought.

    I would eliminate the seeming lack of compassion and or the ability to feel empathy for others. It seems that if everyone felt empathy for their fellow man at all times, most of the worlds problems would inevitably work themselves out.

    I would eliminate the lack of conscious... How we are able to go to sleep at night knowing about all the wrong stuff being done in the world is beyond my capability in understanding. We seem to have no conscious. Surely not enough.
