    What things, ideas or changes would make the biggest impact in regards to improving healthcare in America?

    First of all "Obama care" has nothing to do with health care per se.  This was a bill that simply makes insurance COVERAGE more affordable and more readily available to those who were not eligible prior to its passing.  Those who deem it a bane to healthcare are 'misinformed' to put it politely.  The only controversial part of that bill is mandating people to purchase minimal insurance.  Those who oppose this bill have no interest in greater access to healthcare.  The winners are the insurance companies (money wise) but losing control is more important than the benefits to the people.
    To address improving healthcare itself involves revamping how it is delivered, and doing something about the shortages of providers of health care services.  Hospitals are understaffed, and the corporate leaders are more interested in making huge profits than they are at providing quality care to patients.
    Making hospitals non profit organizations would be a huge step in improving healthcare.   Corporate america and the greedy have all but destroyed everything that was decent in this country.

    Speaking as someone who worked in the health-insurance industry for nearly 40 years, the United States of America has the best healthcare system in the entire world, by far.

    It is just that like everything else on this planet, it is far from being perfect and measures to improve it must be taken on a continual basis.
