What characteristics/ demographics would make for a good running mate choice for Mitt Romney?
Regardless of Your Political Affiliation; What characteristics/ demographics would make for a good running mate choice for Mitt Romney?
A good running mate has to compliment the Presidential candidate...or in other words, offer that which the candidate is themselves weak on.
In the case of Romney, I wouldn't know where to start. He doesn't seem particularly strong in any department.
Any of the good options are going to look like they'd make a better President than he would so I strongly expect a no-name outsider to step into the role because the campaign isn't going to want their candidate overshadowed by his VP pick...or maybe they do, since the current guy looks weaker by the day.
That depends a lot on who Romney wants to be. If he returns to being a relative moderate then someone who satisfies Tea Party types (e.g. Rubio) might be a good choice. If he is going to stay to the right than a moderate would be useful to try and pull Independent votes. Once upon a time I thought Huntsman would make an excellent VP. He would also help Romney regarding foreign policy, however, I just don't see a two Mormon ticket being acceptable to the whacky right. A two Mormon ticket is one of the signs of the Apocalypse isn't it? Before the locusts and after the seas turning to blood or something?
I really think to have a chance he will need some help with the female vote, but honestly, I can't think of any potential VP choice that helps with that.
I suspect they will be looking to avoid a Palin repeat (i.e. Vanilla ice cream covered with nuts), and so won't pick someone who is too interesting, too unknown, or too controversial. Will probably be an older, boringish, white dude (two scoops of Vanilla). In which case the most they may be looking for the VP choice to do is pull a swing state. Rob Portman from Ohio would be an example of this type of choice.
In my opinion, Mitt Romney should select an Hispanic to be his running mate, such as Senator Mark Rubio of Florida or Governor Luis Fortuño of Puerto Rico.

I believe Mitt Romney will chose Marco Rubio as his running mate, do you? After a lot of talk and speculation on who Mitt will pick, I believe he might do the best with Marc out of all the choices. I mean he could go way out to left field and pick a male version of Sarah Palin, we really won't know...

In the video for major campaign donors, Romney explains the details of the work farms with guard towers in China which Bain bought for off-shoring American jobs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-0imhVH … e=youtu.beHis total lack of emphathy is pathethic--it's just business to him..

The man is truly embarrassing,he is incapable of answering a single question on any topic because of the fear of the extreme right which makes him give nonsensical answers and look like a mumbling fool when asked even the simplest of questions.
