Should there be exoneration for Brian Banks and penalty for his accuser?
When Banks was 17 years old & being scouted by NFL & college teams, a female student accused him of kidnapping and raping her. He said it was consensual, but under his lawyer's advisement, pled no contest in return for a 6 year sentence rather than risk a 30+ year sentence. Banks' accuser won a civil suit of $1.5million against the school system. She now recants her story (after friending him on FB) but won't testify bc she doesn't want to repay the money. What would be justice in this case?
Were justice to be served, she would have to compensate Banks for her destruction of what were probably the six most important years of his life, pay back the money of which she defrauded the school system, and do lengthy community service, prison time or both. Since his conviction rested squarely on the testimony she now says was false, of course he should be exonerated.
I'm with Attikos 100%. This woman, who is so afraid of losing her $1.5 million (guess she didn't invest it properly) destroyed a man's life.
What I can't believe is his attitude about the whole thing - he's a true Christian.

What are your views on the death penalty? While I do believe that some people should be put to death, the risk of sending an innocent person to death is too great. I think either the requirements for the death penalty should be higher or is should be banned. What do you think?
