Were you better off before or after Obama became the president?

Tell the truth! I'm not referring to the nation's economy. I'm referring to your personal household.

The sample size for this question is too small. For example yes I am better off because my business has grown, that has nothing much to do with Obama, his policies have not helped me personally but I neither expect nor want them to I am doing fine and don't need governemnt assistance, I am glad that he has been extending it to those who do need it.

Oh actually I forgot, a close relative of mine was brought back from Iraq because of Obama's policies and that was very good.

I am glad for you and so happy about your relative brought back from Iraq. Under Obama's regime, my husband and I both lost our jobs, our house, a lot. But, we had a Plan B. We were lucky. Many people are suffering. I hope things get better for them.

Our household is exactly the same as it was, no raises and high grocery and gas prices. It would be nice if he would actually try to change those things, but his policies have not helped at all. Texas has not suffered as much as some states because we have a diversity of industry. But, many here are suffering because of his lack of dedication to the space race and his hatred of the oil industry.

Thank you for your response. I was just wondering how other people were getting along these days. I admit that I agree with your comment about "his lack of dedication..."

My family is not better off at all. We are paying almost double the dollar amount for a gallon of gas compared to before Obama. Grocery costs are higher partly because of the increased fuel costs. I have had to cut back staff hours at my job because we are not bringing in as much revenue as we were in 2008. I have had to do more work because I work in Health Care and we are being forced to make many costly changes due to the Healthcare mandates from Obama. We have not had our usual steady raises since 2009 - they are now every 2 years instead of annually because of the increased costs from ObamaCare. The tuition costs are up for my daughters daycare because they are also experiencing increased grocery and gas costs. Hope and Change isn't doing anything for me and mine.

Well put. We are a law enforcement family and husband hasn't had a raise in 4 years. I volunteer at a fire dept and take illegals to the hospital all night - sorry about that since I know we're all paying that bill.

Thank you KK - we see many illegals in in our clinic too - we all cover those costs. I am miffed at why someone voted my comments down - as the question was answered on my personal experiences..... Gremlins I guess

Thank you for answering honestly. I don't look at votes anymore. I think people simply come into forums, vote someone down just to make them angry and then leave.

Thank you Marlene - Great Question - gets people thinking. I think you are right about the negative voters too.

I feel your pain. My husband and I were both "right-sized" from our companies on the exact same day after Obama came into office. The company was scared and terminated a large number of people. With zero income, life sucked. Plan B = Early Retirement

Yes; the Gestapo have stopped coming to press me back into service even though I am no longer in the military. Bush was a former military deserter who tried to make everyone that finished their military service feel like deserters.

Thank you, Old Empresario, for serving. We should all remember that it is because of you and those who serve that life is better for the rest of us.

Yes I am 19 years old and because of Obama health care I am allowed to be on my parents insurance until I am 26.

Yes. This is an acceptable part of the Obama Health Care policy, especially if you are attending college and can't afford to pay for it yourself. However, people should be aware that it does cost their parents more money when they stay on their plan.

I'm not an US citizen, but I was better off before Obama becoming president simply because the crisis wasn't so bad.

Yes. Nothing was perfect, however, it does seem like many things have intensified since Obama came into office.

I was FAR better off before he became president - prices are up, investments are down, and my wife's real estate career has suffered.  I'm a retired government employee and I'm trying to reenter the work force but there are so many people applying for the few jobs out there, it's almost impossible to get hired to a job, even jobs that I am highly qualified to do.  Why on earth did we reelect this guy?
