How do celebrities influence your political and social views?
Do you vote based on their political endorsements? Do you support charities that they support? Do celebrities influence your values?
No. I give no credence to the opinions, values or lives of celebrities. I admire their work but they are no better informed on the issues than I am, and so no I do not include them in my decision making process.
Not in the slightest. The celebrities who make ostentatious political endorsements, adopt charities, and pontificate on values for any reason other than their own career interests are so few and far between there's no return on the investment of paying attention to them.
I agree with Attikos and Duffsmom - I pay no attention at all to who the celebrities endorse. They may be a great actor/acctress but that doesn't qualify them to know a candidate any better than the average citizen. In fact there are a few celebrities that are absolute train wrecks and the only effect they would have on my political opinion is a negative effect.
They have no influence on my views on anything, unless they are specialists in a field outside of their celebrity status.
Celebrity endorsements do not sway me at all. As a matter of fact I cannot recall any celebrity endorsing a candidate in an ad or a television show for this election.
