When should the United States of America annex the United States of Mexico?
Would it solve the immigration concern if they no longer have to climb over fences or take battery tests? Would it lower crime? Would it make it easier of taxpayers pockets? Would it lower the cost of security spending? Would it make assimilating the Spanish vocabulary into the English language easier, thus making global communications easier?
It would never happen, the Mexican people would fight it and we are way too broke for enormous war like that plus it doesn't have public support. Liberals oppose it because it's an invasion and conservatives oppose it because if Mexico became part of the US no conservative president would ever be elected again.
I think you mistake the "why" of the Latino vote. The majority are hard core Catholics. Take away the immigration issue, and I don't believe the Democrats would hold the majority of that vote.
Perhaps the conservatives need to find a Catholic candidate and recalibrate their parties. While it may seem like it would be exspensive, if the USA redrafted and enacted other legislation, such as marijuana legalization it would happen overnight.
Actually being a Latino there is a lot more to it than that, the Mexican heroes are socialists and communists- Pancho Villa etc. and Mexico is miles to the left in the US the Latino vote is still further left despite the conservative Cubans.
Are you suggesting that the Federal Republic redraft itself to become more open to democracy with versatile properties that make dissolving borders easier, while dissolving particular areas of power that have become too consolidated in weight?
That would be an arrogant move on our part. It isn't just about making things easier for our US, there are other cultures involved.
I agree to a degree... but what if it is unable to last if we are to continue with the present course of actions?
You mean, when will we annex the other half of Mexico since we annexed the northern half 160 years ago? I say, let them move back in to those regions. A lot of the illegal immigrants coming to the US are not Mexicans. Many are from El Salvador and other Central American countries. They come through Mexico to sneak across the border. So annexing Mexico will not really solve those problems. Also, the Latinos pouring in are assimilating to US culture. The first generation has some troubles with English, but their children and grandchildren are fluent. It's just like when the Italians first started coming to the US.
That sounds very good that the assimilation of cultural values is happening with such a wide spread occurence. Of which, this is precisely why we need to make preparations and draft as to how we will assimilate the necessary values to acquire harmony
