   No. Far from it. We are a baby, founded on violence and intolerance. We are still violent and intolerant. And we treat rich people like gods. Iceland jailed the bankers who ruined them. Viking spirit! On the other hand, the founding spirit of breaking from the hold of religion and authority is majorly inspiring. If only we would really truly DO IT!
   We need this:
   All people are equal in humanity
   No ones god rules our gvt
   Mind your business
   Care for your fellow citizens, without complaint

   Given that most who would immigrant elsewhere choose here and that millions choose to risk their lives to come here each year, I would say yes, proven by those voting with their feet.
   It is illogical for many illegal aliens to simultaneously denounce this nation as bad yet break our laws and demand we ignore our laws to let them stay. It is also unreasonable to worship a culture that didn't afford you opportunity and demand everyone accommodate cultural practices that clearly created an inferior society.
   You left it, you didn't want to stay in it, you should adapt to the culture you proved was better by traveling this far to come here.

      YD, you are talking about a completely different time period. Think about it, there is a big difference between then and now. Why do people now have to pay for what they did . If your grandfather killed someone at 18, should you go to prison for it?
