What's the craziest thing you've ever done to avoid getting caught or in trouble?

I just read an article about an 11 year old who faked his own kidnapping to avoid dealing with his parents after a parent-teacher conference. That is pretty extreme.

Once as a teenager I was out all night with the cover story of being at a friends.  There were four of us who went a friend of my boyfriend's house.  His parents were out of town.  We didn't do anything outrageous, or drink, nothing sexual - but the father came home unexpectedly early in the morning so the other girl and I hid in a closet until the dad got into the shower and then we snuck out.

So close to getting caught, I can still hear the dad walking around in the house before he headed to his shower.

To my knowledge, no one ever found out.

It is amazing that you pulled that off! I thought that only happened in the movies smile

I will have to use an example from when I was in 4th grade because it's pretty funny.

I used to come home from school and spend time alone until my mom came home from work.  One day I wanted to surprise her and decided to make brownies.  I must have misread the directions because I added way too much water.  When she came home she was furious and asked what I had done.  I told her it was a science experiment, because I didn't want to get in trouble.

I thought I got away with it too until parent/teacher conference day when she fussed at my science teacher about the chocolate experiment!

Cute story!! I love kid stories. Isn't it funny what we think we can get away with?
