What do you think about the typical saying "People never change?"
The saying is broadly correct. Our personalities are formed at a young age and science has proven that the majority of people do not change their personalities for the most part. Environmental factors play a role in how we may change some, but for the most part, people don't change.
I think it depends on if it's used as a generalization or about specific things about individuals. Some people will always be the same in every regard while others may change certain parts of the personality as they grow older. Sometimes it's for the better, sometimes it makes it worse.
Most people don't change or won't change because 1st of all they don't realise that they need to change, & 2nd they don't know how to change for the better....How many peeps do we all know that in our opinion need to change their ways, but can't see it for themselves "& who am i too judge" they'd probably say!lol....The only way for any one to change for the better is to look at their whole life style logically & impartially, & see if there is anything that they could improve on about themselves....Now the average person that needs to do that won't know that that's an option, & so they carry on slowly boiling themselves as in the boiling frog metaphor....People who can't change are stuck in the past blaming their past for their present situation, & never consider that the past is only for learning from, & we have to move on from our past unwanted experiences....It is possible for anyone to change right now, but they have to have some awareness of how their acting/behaving before they can even start trying....So I'd say the saying is true for all the people that are identified to their self as only their mind, but for the peeps not still attached to their ego/negative mind & their past, those people are changing constantly....So basically anyone can change themselves for the better over time, however most people 1) don't realise they need to change.. 2) don't know how to change..3) & some can't be bothered even if they knew how to go about it....It takes a massive effort for a person to change themselves for the better, & most people don't have that kind of energy & will power....What most peeps don't realise is that the will power & energy do come, but they have to make a start first. :-)

I was reading this article about Sean Loftis. He is a Miami-Dade county substitute teacher who was suspended from his job when it was discovered that he is a former gay porn actor. This situation reminds me of Tericka Dye, who was also a porn star in the past. After Dye...

Why do so many people think it's better to be in a bad relationship than to be alone?I enjoy my own company and I have so many crafts and hobbys that I love. Being alone is not a bad thing to me. I have three children and as we prepare to send the last one off to college my mind races with all the...

Why do people complain? One of my biggest pet peeves are people who complain about things, when they have both the opportunity, and the resources to make it better. Why complain about something when you can fix it? Fix it, and move on
