What are some things I can do to recycle newspaper?
I am a couponer. So each Sunday I buy 8-20 newspapers. I am using a few in compost but what else can I do with them so they will not be fully wasted?
With the exception of the glossy pages, you can line your plant beds with them, then mulch over top. It acts much as it does in the compost pile and also retains moisture below the soil.
Newspaper and white vinegar are great for cleaning windows. No streaks or paper towel fuzz left on the glass!
Pass a couple of them out to your neighbors who don't get the Sunday paper.
Use newspaper and twigs as a fire starter for the fire pit, if you have one.
Crumple up the pages to act as fillers/buffers in packages you mail out, especially if they contain breakable items.
tear it into strips and let your kids use it for paper mache art projects, that's always fun or you can also make them into seed starter pots - look up how to fold them, I've seen that done before.
Get one of those implements that makes the paper into blocks that can be used like firewood.
Use the paper for papier mache. You can make lots of things with the kids that are fun to do.
Perhaps a local farmer can use them as bedding for their livestock if you live in the country.
You tear into pieces, place it in a bowl and put a little salt and pepper on it and then can eat it mmmm!!!!!!!
I think animal shelters can use them.
I think I'd try finding more coupons online too. That's a lot of papers.
Tear it and put it in a compost bin or use it as mulch in the garden under a layer of bark.
Make art deco wrapping paper for gifts; party hats; cones for party favors.
Thanks all for all the great ideas!! Paper mache sounds fun, and I think with the amount I have the garden is a good idea!

What is the best way to ward off small flies from a compost container? The containers where we throw kitchen waste for composting always attract flies. Is there a way to keep them away without damaging the composting process?
