    First off I just want to say that this is my opinion and it doesn't mean that I am right or wrong and I am not trying to provoke anyone or call out anyone.
    I do think that it should be legalized by now.
    Why?
    A lot of people smoke marijuana, and after taking a Criminal Justice class my teacher told me that in his opinion locking people up for selling weed is just wasting space in a jail sell. There are so many other more dangerous criminals they could be focusing on.
    Another reason the product could help out the economy especially since cigarette smokers have decreased since 2007. The selling of marijuana legally could be beneficial.
    I can also see the downfalls of how this is seen as a "gateway drug", but instead of society trying to focus on trying to get people not to smoke it they should spend an equal amount of time and effort on trying to stop the jump from marijuana to a more harder type of drug.
    This is all once again just my opinion.
