Use up Emotional Quotient. Give your staff space and try to understand them. Have a more humanistic approach than a more "hitler" type regime.
It's easier to say that to actually do. But you have to be friendly and have that human component, however you have to get your staff productive in order to achieve your goals. You cannot be too friendly and have you mistaken by a friend.
Develop a 'team spirit' attitude know your staffs strong and weak points in the duties or assignments Be honest and fair in dealing with staff give them credit for doing a good job and let them know privately that you would like improvements to their work efforts
