    Should we pass a law to allow shop owners killing gangsters that force them to pay protection money?

    Once that become legal, that outa scare a lot of gangsters from trying shit like this

    I was in the army for 11 years and was in the war. I don't think killing anyone is ok even so called gangsters. But I do believe you have the rite to protect yourself. Anyway they aren't gangsters they are just punks that thing they are.  Real gangsters wore suits and ties. Al Capone, John Dillinger. Those guys were real gangsters

    I think you should have the right to those threatening your life or property. In most states, protecting your life is a given, protecting your property, not as clear.
    If they say pay us money or we'll kill you, it is self defense to kill them under current law.
    If they say pay us money or you'll suffer, the law is less clear.
    The concern is that you could kill someone in the store and simply say they were demanding protection money.
    Conversely, adopting Texas' laws that allow for force in defense of both property and life allows you to kill an intruder into your home without having to retreat AND option to shoot an armed robber whether they are actively threatening you at that moment or not.
