Is United Nations Organization uphold the peace in the World?
The main and basic purpose of UNO is to maintain peace and prosperity in the world and why it silent on many disastrous issues of the world?
As an American, I'll give you the general view of the U.N.:
It's a very weak, feckless organization that morally equivocates between nations. From the outside, it appears to be run like a fiefdom with diplomats trying to cash in while in New York. Not all nations are created equal. The U.N.'s goal should be stability through democracy. Not an easy task (just look at the Middle East). But the U.N. can start by not coddling dictatorships around the world. Pick a side.
I won't even get into the corruption with many of their programs. That has been documented elsewhere.
A reevaluation of their mission is warranted. I don't think their peacekeeping forces do much. In Africa, they have been disaster, and criminal in a lot of cases. During the Yugoslavian Civil War, many of the peacekeepers were taken hostage. In the Sinai, it has been successful because it was the Americans doing the heavy lifting.
Is it all bad? Absolutely not. I bet there are some wonderful people out there who are really striving for a better world. But when you look back at issues like Iraq's Oil for Food program and similiar attempts, all one sees is mismanagement and greed.
They can't. They regularly denounce Israel for existing, but can't agree that ISIS is evil much less raise an army to wipe it out.

From my perspective, this report on a UN agency, following accusations of its staffers participating in the Oct. 7 Hamas attack, highlights numerous issues—glaring and deep ones. Some may prefer not to dwell on these problems, but I am open to exploring these reports. Various countries are cutting...

The United States have been active member of the United Nations since its inception in 1945. However history provides examples of anti-UN sentiment that have arisen throughout the US and beyond; the stalemate of the Cold War, the failed actions in the 1994 Rwandan Genocide, the UN's failure to...

The airport in the capital, Port-au-Prince, is now an American military base and relief flights have been re-routed to the Dominican Republic. All flights stopped for three hours for the arrival of Hillary Clinton. Critically injured Haitians waited unaided as 800 American residents in Haiti were...
