If US can't keep out 1000s of illegal aliens, how can we keep out 1000s of small outlawed guns?
Yup, especially since nearly 1400 Fast and Furious guns have been lost.
Attorney General Eric Holder was held in contempt of Congress & Obama invoked executive privilege to withhold evidence. 211 people have been killed by Fast and Furious weapons thus far in Mexico.
Is it any wonder, then, that many Americans suspect that the Obama administration is far more concerned about disarming law-abiding Americans than about capturing drug lords?

These type of laws are never meant to prevent 100% of the crime they target, but rather decrease the amount which may happen. That does not mean there still won't be a lot of gun violence or immigration issues, but stop some crime. Even with existing immigration laws, some statistics show 45% of all illegal aliens actually enter the country via legal means and then overstay their visas. Then you look at the ones smuggled in via ship, planes, Canadian and Mexican borders. For gun violence, laws like the Assault Riffle n of 1994-2004 did result in a steep drop off in gun violence and then steady off until the ban was lifted. This did not mean gun violence ended, just decreased. Better to try something than try nothing so long as the law is rational.

Liberals have whole cities and states ignoring federal immigration law by saying we won't check your legal status in the country, and if you're arrested, we won't report you to DHS/INS you unless it is something drastic like murder.
Liberals are ignoring federal drug laws and passing city and state laws on recreational and medical marijuana.
Since liberals have been able to ignore both federal drug laws and immigration laws on a massive scale, immigration laws ignored for twenty years, they have given conservatives an example to follow in having states like Texas and Oklahoma say we will ignore any new gun control laws. After all, liberal states are ignoring other laws en masse.
And the conservatives have a stronger basis for it, because the right to own a gun as a citizen so you can be called up for civil defense or use it for self defense is part of the Second Amendment. In contrast, drug and immigration laws are more distantly derived from the Constitution.
It is millions of illegals.
Over 99 percent of gun owners are law abiding.
Half of the gun deaths are suicides. The lowest low number of deaths are in mass shootings.
Gun control is like looking for your lost car keys under a street lamp just because the light is better there.
Go after the criminals and the terrorists and when you find them, take their guns away from them.
So far, I agree with all of you! Yet, we have an entire Congress of Democrats who are willing to put on a 'street theater' sit-in to demand more gun laws. Thank gosh, these American politicians are willing to embarrass themselves for the all of us.
