If you told someone to go kill his/herself and the person does so. Did you help commit murder?
Can you be charged for telling someone to go kill themselves and they do?
According to the 13 Amendment, no person can be another's slave. However, one can be subjected to slave labor if imprisoned. Therefore, one is not obligated to perform another person's order to commit suicide. On the other hand, "go kill yourself" is a dumb thing for anyone to say to another person.
One shouldn't be held responsible for the actions of others.
However in our modern era of cyber bullying there have been instances where people have been charged with a crime or sued for repeatedly telling someone they should kill them self and the person does it. There have been debates about this subject.
Of course not, as suicide is a murder committed by the person themselves. A further stretch would be like Charlie Sheen who wished President Elect Trump would be taken by God. As if he even believes in God.
And of course, unless you believe in voodoo, Charlie Sheen would only be guilty of being a liberal.
Clive this is a very good question for people to look into. And the answer is a resounding Yes!
Anyone can be "charged" for about any conceived notion of the violation of a criminal statute.
There is a young man sitting in a jail for a year for taking an innocent picture of the submarine he served on, for nostalgia sake. 2 kids and a wife now on welfare. He never showed them to anyone but family. So he was charged and convicted.
We all know what Hillary did -- no charges?
With that said. Yes they could be convicted if they were in such a position of control over the killer. Think brainwashing, drug control, parent and young child. Remember Jim Jones? Karesh? Threatening and having the means to kill a child. Then in some states having a party and letting a drunk guest drive to their death.
I like to use it as a metaphor for someone who is harmed by feeling guilty about something. They charge themselves with their "crime" but never get a trial.
Isn't Telling Someone to go kill themself and telling someone to go kill someone else the same?
Michelle Carter faces manslaughter charges for encouraging her boyfriend to kill himself, not murder charges.

The first day of the verdict in the Oscar Pistorius trial had some interesting legal interpretations. How can someone who fired 4 shots into a toilet, not be deemed to be intending to kill the victim. But this is what the judge said in dismissing the charge of murder."How could the accused...

This fascinates me. The bungler in chief has changes his story a few times about Bin Laden's well deserved death. One might think they could just watch the videos from the assault team along with the helicopter-mounted cameras, develop a timeline, create some PowerPoint slides and tell the people...
