What is/are the most important priorities for long term strength for the US?
My view is economic strength is and will continue to be the most important strength for a country. While national defense is important, it is a protective force. Growth through colonization is long over.
1. Infrastructure - economic activity requires infrastructure. Our roads, bridges, electricity, and internet systems (to name a few) are old, vulnerable, and lagging competitors like China.
2. Education. The global economy is a knowledge economy. Think of every child as a lottery ticket. Who knows who the next Jobs or Zuckerberg will be? No child should be thrown away, ever.

The bottom line of President Reagan's Right-wing endorsed economic policy is that "if you put more money in the hands of the wealthy, it will, 1) Expand the economy, 2) Let the boat rise with the economy, and 3) Prosperity will "Trickle-down to expand the middle class.None of those things...
