A possible record payout is waiting for someone Tuesday as the Mega Millions again went without a winner.  Indulge in a little fun and tell me what you’d do with the money to better your life or the lives of your fellow human beings.

I’m the parent of a child with autism - I’d give a hundred million directly to help families who need assistance and another hundred million toward helping the homeless and hungry in my home state of Idaho

First, I would do the Warren Buffet thing, live a low key life. The less people who know me or know of me, the better. Consumerism is already irrelevant in my mind and I am not fabulously wealthy. I would find worthwhile charities and give in secret, where the left hand would not know what the right hand was doing.

Just imagine 1.6 billion, the only downside is that we are all mortal, so the thrill is always short lived. Forces one to think about what is really important in life.

I think what I've discovered by this question - and some answers from people I've seen elsewhere - is that most people are math illiterate and have absolutely no comprehension whatsoever of how much money we're talking about.

Kudos to your answers, RJ. Politics aside, I admire your potential generosity.

I wouldn't know what to do with so much money. lol

I'd help my family, specially my parents.
I'd donate to differente causes, but particulary to families with children with cancer.

For us, I'd buy a big house. I'd adopt several kids. <3

It's fun to imagine. My husband and I have talked about this. We would continue to live in a modest home in our small town, but would travel EVERYWHERE until or if we got tired of it.

We would set up trusts for all our kids and help certain family members with direct gifts of money.

The really fun part:  we would set up a nonprofit(?) to focus on increasing civics education, enhancing critical thinking skills, and instilling a love of volunteerism in young people.

We would give to several local charities as well.

I'd definitely help my family and would devote a large percentage toward philanthropic projects. Probably geared toward helping unwed mothers, scholarships for kids, low income housing for people reaching retirement age.

The first thing I'd do would be to cut off my cell phone account and set up a different email so I could focus on what I wanted to do with it and not have to be bombarded by solicitors.

That would be a must for anyone - can you imagine how many hands would be out in your direction?

For myself and my family: travel, travel, and travel some more.

For others: sizeable donations to cancer charities and animal shelters, pay off everyone in my family’s debt.

I'd become the "George Soros " of independent political thought .
Paying  democrats all across this great nation to go back to school and be force fed independent thought for days , perhaps weeks until they broke down and withdrew  from one of the greatest  cults of today's brainwashed ideologies .

    The new democratic party .

I wish I knew what you were like when you’re not ranting about liberals. Tell me about yourself, Ed.

First thing I'd do would be get a lawyer and/or a financial advisor.

Next would be paying off my house and all my other debt.

There should be plenty left over after that, even after making sure my family is well provided for, for me to do pretty much whatever I want for as long as I want, until I croak.
