Democrats must be smarter than Republicans. That is left's premise. If the premise is false, the left will exclaim "what good does it do to demonstrate this?"
I submit that you cannot fix stupid and that Western Civilization is in decline because a majority of voters are incapable of making thoughtful, rational decisions. What do you think ?
Support your argument rather than rant, please. https://theblacksphere.net/2017/03/pew- … democrats/
Of course Dems have gotten smarter - since 2010 and 2012 - waiting for a new quiz to prove history wrong.

Rational decisions? From just YOUR point of view?

That is my opinion, it is pretty arrogant to assume those that do not vote for rightwing stuff are inherently irrational.

Even though I extend a welcome to any newcomer, the question remains, who let you loose?

That is too bad, because looking at your narrative I would consider you a pretty sharp cookie.

Everyone is smart and everyone is dumb, on various topics. This desire to insult the intelligence of the other side does nothing to promote civil discourse.

Fascinating that a knowledge of current trivia topics is a determinant of intelligence.

It doesn't say much about the pew researchers...or perhaps about those that are interpreting their results.

So would you categorize basic civics questions as trivia? You may be right.

I very highly doubt that one person in a thousand can name the supreme court justices.  Or fill in a world map with the names of countries.  Or give the names of more than one or two international leaders.  I doubt that one person in a 100,000 could name cabinet members.

So yes, if that's basic civics it is trivia.

Same for the definition of rational. I am willing to accept that the definition of epistemology has changed. .As far as insulting others' intelligence, that is the problem, isn't it? How do you talk to folks and try to explain why what they are saying has nothing to do with problem solving without folks taking it personally? I am thankful for your responses because some agreement may come from it.

Think about your examples. We aren't talking about anything similar to that, I think. "A 2008 study by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, which surveyed more than 2,500 Americans, found that only half of adults in the country could name the three branches of government."

By extension, would they know the functions of these branches?

When Texas Tech students were asked about the show Snookie starred in ("Jersey Shore") or Brad Pitt's marriage history, they answered correctly.

I guess it is up for grabs what facts are required for survival.
