“Because President Trump emerges as a clear winner from his week-long confrontation with Mexico over our neighbor’s lax enforcement of its southern border, reflexive Trump critics will scramble to find some way of containing what is a clear Trump triumph.”

On a different topic, Mike, you have a very nice library of articles.
Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to tell me.
Of course, the deal with Mexico he's claiming victory for was made weeks ago before Trump threatened the tariffs. DOH!
It may just be me, but there seem to be more threads that I would call "trolling" threads than usual at the moment.
I know such threads are created by people on both sides of the political spectrum, but this is the first time of thought to ask this:
Is there a sense of gratification when posting a thread like this? Is it an outlet for frustrations you feel with the current polarized political situation?
Is the aim to try to persuade others, e.g. do you post a thread like this in the hope that someone will read it and reverse their opinion of Donald Trump?
Or is it purely for your own amusement (I confess one or two of my own comments sometimes fall into that category)? Perhaps all of the above? Or something else entirely?
I'm genuinely interested. I think it's a fascinating phenomenon.
Not sure I follow. I get why a website that makes money from ad revenue might do anything for clicks, but what's the benefit of a forum post getting clicks? Am I missing something?
What good deed are you referring to, LTL? Not increasing the tariffs? His own senate groupies were against that as well. I suppose not doing a bad deed could be construed as a good deed in your opinion?
The senate republicans against Trump are part of the swamp. We need to elect better politicians that are looking out for us, the citizens and that includes democrats and republicans. The border with mexico is a crisis by any definition.
Thank goodness there are some senators on the right not allowing the cretin to completely ruin our economy with tariffs which hurt American consumers.
And Trump removed the alligators from the swamp and inserted crocodiles in their place. What a genius!!
How is he ruining the economy?
Only to a socialist that Trump is a failure. And you know what, that is exactly why he is winning...
Socialism is a failure and you are on the losing side and you don’t have a clue why.
Back to the basics...Read up on “Free to Choose” for answers.
Trumps has done nothing but threaten the tariffs, Jack. His "victory" was decided back in March. He bluffed nothing not already decided. months ago. What a liar as usual.
Well then, it's obvious his threaten of tariffs got the Mexican government motivated to enact their plan. If it was agreed to in March and they haven't moved on it, they needed motivation and President Donald Trump provided it. This is a victory.
Sometimes, it takes thinking outside the box to get things done.
The problem with politicians is to them everything leads to money and taxes and votes. It is like being a hammer and everything else look like a nail.
Trump is a businessman. He got results using his “art of the deal” tactics.
That is why he is a winner.
Yeah, a failed businessman in most of his deals. Like his son-in-law borrowing over 90 million dollars from foreign investors since being in the WH.
The [i]Guardian[/] reported this money came through the Cayman Islands from foreign investors and remains to be seen who they are. It is being investigated as we speak.

It seems to be very easy for Trump to trick his base into buying his BS....as indicted by his fans. No real surprise there..
You obviously get a thrill out posting fake news, like your idol, Mike.
Randy, if your response is honest, it is many more times funnier than the meme. PLEASE tell me you're not being serious.
PLEASE tell me the meme you posted is serious, Mike.
laughable at best. A tanker would never point a turret at an unarmed individual. And that Trumpean lie about illegal voters is just plain foolish.

I think harris lacks a lot in debate skills. She avoids questions from the press. Interviews she has done are very few. With the one national press interview done by her she was accompanied by her VP. It was taped. harris will have a difficult time answering questions...

Even after being indicted, President Donald Trump's poll numbers remain solid. Could be a result of people losing faith in the legal institutions such as the FBI an DOJ? Is it possible the blatant use of them against a political opponent is obvious to more and more people?"Donald...

If Trump had a crystal ball which showed he might (somehow) start a civil war here in the good ol' USA, would/should he decide not to run? - wondering.

Despite all the socio-political questions hanging about, how would you picture former president Donald Trump, as a potential candidate in the 2024 piesidentialrace? Can he make it again? Will the GOP give him a second chance?

I wonder what President Trump's supporters think of him now.1. He's raised tariffs to an unprecedented level (formerly protectionism was something Democrats always wanted) and is damaging average Americans and business with it by raising costs on an assortment of goods and also negating any effect...

How else do you explain his behavior over the past few days and in Helsinki? Why does he refuse to hold Putin and Russia responsible for interfering in our election? Why, whenever he's given the chance, does he describe Putin as a strong leader and criticize America? Here are a couple of links. The...
