"A group of House Republicans stormed a secure room where testimony is being heard in the impeachment inquiry on Wednesday, delaying the start of closed-door testimony by Laura Cooper, the top Pentagon official overseeing U.S. policy regarding Ukraine.

Led by Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., the GOP members — who don’t sit on the committees that are questioning witnesses in the impeachment inquiry — entered the secure room, known as a SCIF, in the basement of the Capitol Visitor's Center. Before entering, they protested Democrats' handling of the probe, arguing that the process was not fair to Republicans or the president.

House rules only allow members to participate in depositions if they serve on the committees.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., told reporters that there were approximately 20 GOP members in the room who refused to leave, and said that they came into the secure room yelling that they be allowed inside. Some of these members brought their cellphones, which are not permitted."

Trump and these GOP acolytes seem willing to do anything to prevent the truth being told. It's pretty sad really.

I wonder how the following Republican members of the committee felt about other Republicans disrupting their meeting.

The ranking member is one of Trump's most enthusiastic supporters. The Republican list:

      - Devin Nunes, Ranking Member, 22nd District of California
      - Mike Conaway, 11th District of Texas
      - Michael Turner, 10th District of Ohio
      - Brad Wenstrup, 2nd District of Ohio
      - Chris Stewart, 2nd District of Utah
      - Rick Crawford, 1st District of Arkansas
      - Elise Stefanik, 21st District of New York
      - Will Hurd, 23rd District of Texas
      - John Ratcliffe, 4th District of Texas

We already know the rule of law means nothing to Republicans, so this seems pretty normal.

Surely someone in the GOP has got enough spine to say this was wrong.

Matt Gaetz, is a dumbass known for pulling such childish stunts. I place his intelligence and integrity right down there with Nunes.

He's the same guy who threatened Michael Cohen.

Yes, he wandered into the room and gave Cohen the old evil eye.  He wasn't supposed to be there either. What a POS!

Will the Sergeant at arms have to secure depositions against rogue members of Congress now? What a sad state of affairs, but it's symptomatic of what Trump and the Republicans are doing to the country's democratic institutions. Why do Trump supporters hate the Constitution so much?

It is indeed a sad state of affairs when the "judges" of a trial are not allowed to hear or question witnesses, but are forced to rely on the honesty of biased "investigators" with irons in the fire themselves.

One must wonder whether it is "The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth" being searched for or just anything that might support a guilty verdict.  Will any evidence contrary to the desired conclusion be presented or even allowed to be considered at all?

Are you aware of a trial going on, because I'm not. What trial would that be?
