Countless studies have been undertaken regarding the liberal & conservative brain, not to mention mindsets & philosophies.  In your estimation, what type of person is more mature, more evolved, & more tolerant?  List your reasons.

More mature - that has to go to conservatives.  Far too many liberals, once they are on their own and beginning to support themselves, back away from the concept of a massive welfare state taking care of everyone.  What else can it be but maturity?

Evolved?  Perhaps the liberal - perhaps we are evolving from individuals to a "city state" where the group mind controls everything.  I hope not, but it could be true.

Tolerant?  Neither one is tolerant of the other, and both insist they have all the answers and the other has none.

Wilderness, that is a good answer. A "but" is forthcoming. I don't think either is 100 percent mature or immature. I believe that a person is either conservative or liberal because of upbringing and personal beliefs, which can be altered by education. I think that either can have an immature, one-sided view that can mature once the ramifications of the situation are thoroughly studied and a decision is made on what is best for society, not just for personal gain.

Conservative does not automatically signify maturity.
I agree that young liberals today are showing an immaturity toward wanting something for nothing. However, too many conservatives are for what is good for big corporations because they've heard that regulation is bad for business. They are uneducated to the fact that many big corporations won't regulate themselves and are harming their consumers and the country. This is an occasion where regulation is appropriate. For example: the savings and loan failures of the 1980s after deregulation. Our tax dollars were used to bail them out, resulting a form of socialism known as government intervention.

I would mostly agree, although I also think most liberal programs are extremely shortsighted, promoting immediate individual improvement at the expense of long term societal loss.  But that's me, and I understand others disagree.

Certainly life's experiences will change an immature, one-sided view.  Or most other views as well!

Liberals definitely! They're more open minded and adaptable. They can see things from different perspectives. Unlike the conservatives who are stuck with tradition they didn't take part in its formation, and see no need to question.

Exactly.  In order to progress & grow, one must have an open mind.  Furthermore, one must possess a curious mind always willing to learn & analyze.
