I am not a Democrat, but I have closely followed the candidates that are competing to be the Democratic candidate and go head to head with President Trump. Amy Klobuchar seems to me to offer the party a fighting chance against Trump. She certainly knows the ins and outs of Washington, she has been a senator for 13 years. She has a good record of working with both sides to get things done, and she is a woman without baggage. Amy might just be able to pick up a large majority of the women's vote. I mean let's face it, many women were very disappointed that they did not get a woman in the White House last time around. Amy is an accomplished woman that other women could easily come to admire, and respect
Plus, her ideology is just slightly to the left, and she could very well pick up many independents that are just not buying into some of the more radical far-left candidate's ideas of "the free for all giveaways"... It is clear many American's are searching for change. But, how much change are they willing to accept? it is clear Amy has a good solid progressive agenda. However, with all the hoopla it's just not being heard.
So, I dare to ask --- Why not Amy Klobuchar?
I don't think most women are more likely to vote for a candidate based on gender. That said, I like her just fine and agree she would probably appeal to more independents than Bernie.
I'm not sure why she hasn't caught on. She is more experienced than Pete.
Trump has already lost the vast majority of women's votes, though, regardless who runs against him.
It was not my intention to imply women would vote for Amy due to her gender. I gave several examples of why women might be inclined to vote for her due to her accomplishments.
She knows the ins and outs of Washington, she has been a senator for 13 years. She has a good record of working with both sides to get things done, and she is a woman without baggage. I mentioned that she is an accomplished woman that women could easily come to admire, and respect.
I certainly agree many women would not vote based on gender. I count myself among those that would not...
Primarily because at this juncture it appears the rank and file in the Democrat party is behind Bernie.
The old guard democrats who insulted any who voted for Trump and called them every name in the book appears to now whine that Bernie supporters are just inexperienced and young; reacting with emotional fear of Trump and not with their heads.
Why not Amy for the same reason why not Biden, why not Warren and why not any other candidate. They aren't gaining the support of voters who take the time to have their voices heard through their votes in the primary.
The big question we should ask is why Bernie. People are dissatisfied, they feel their voices haven't been heard and their concerns haven't been addressed. Bernie represents the idea that business as usual is not ok anymore. Just as support for Trump did. It's time we move to agree on a vision moving forward that reflects all of our voices. Stop letting the political elites scare us into thinking they should maintain power.

Any thoughts about the debate so far? Joe seems to be holding his own thus far IMHO. No clear winner yet.

The pundits are praising Hillary for her cool under fire appearance at the Democratic Debate last night. The question has to be has she finally rehabilitated her trust issue with all the controversy as Secretary of State? Or is she just moving on ignoring the problem until it goes away? And what...
