Do you believe that under Biden, America will become worse?  If so, how?

What do you mean by worse, in what respect?  The great American divide, crime, economy, foreign affairs, immigration, rise in terror on American soil, the problems we have in educating our children, job creation, systemic racism, higher drug prices, health care,  have I forgot anything? Oh yes, great deficit... Should I use Trump's tenure as a guideline?  I just  pretty much-made mention of what was going pretty well or beginning to show improvement on Trump's time.

After hearing today of Biden's choices for his cabinet I can see he has just rehired former Obama lackeys.  So, to answer your question we will have a rerun of the Obama presidency. Which in no respect surprises me due to Biden has no history of being a do-nothing Senator. I just witnessed a very confused elderly man, not even campaign but win an election...  America will become worse. To go into a deeper explanation of why our country will become worse --- I would have to write a book.

I am a conservative, and that is my opinion.

I'm not a conservative, but since this is an open forum, it's not possible to exclude anyone from posting.

I think America will become worse, regardless of who is President.

Many people, including Trump's own staff, have pointed out that it wasn't necessary for Trump to show leadership on coronavirus measures, because each state is independent and their state governments are the leaders for their own people.

If the President's leadership would've had no influence for coronavirus, then clearly, it has no significant influence on anything.  It's the states who will determine how America develops.

Marisa, do you believe that there will be a civil war among various factions? If so, why?  If not, why not?  Will it get worse in America before it gets better?

It's a good question.  If you look around the rest of the world, you'll notice there's been a strong trend since the late 20th century for countries to separate.   It started with all the Eastern Blog countries and Yugoslavia splitting into their component countries. Even Czechoslovakia became Czechia and Slovakia.  Many other countries are now following suit. Spain and the UK have very strong separatist movements.

It's a theory, but I think that with globalisation, countries no longer feel they have to be tied to their neighbours.  Even a small country can be independent and pick and choose who they deal with across the globe.

I know that America is one country, but we mustn't forget it is made up of a federation of individual states, and many of those states have fundamentally different identities. Some states are larger than many independent countries and could easily flourish as a sovereign state.

In many ways, it's a credit to the US that it has managed to create and maintain an "American" identity out of such a motley crew for so long.  But it does seem to me that those differences are becoming too large to bridge.
