Most of humanity are sheeple who told what they are told.  People prefer to conform to the powers that be, for good or for ill.   People are taught that it is far better to be indoctrinated in the societal program whatever it may be.    There are only a minority of people who question authority.   America & other industrialized nations are becoming more authoritarian because people refuse to question authority e.g. the covid situation with its increasing mandates.  Are people sheeple which is/will result in increased government authoritarianism, even totalitarianism?   Your thoughts on the matter?

So long as comfort is offered, people are content to feel non-conformist whilst conforming to those they see as bringing them the most comfort. Societies grow beyond their own ability to sustain themselves, the societies begin to lose comfort, the systems of control are rebelled against until they crumble, and the systems rise anew when comfort returns until it once again recycles itself.

Conformity is a sign of an excess of comfort, and rebellion is its antithesis. Better we have a balance, seek to maintain the balance, than oppress or pander to everyone. At least that is my kneejerk reaction to this concept, without putting too much effort into thought.

My thought on the matter is that this post belongs in the topical forum and not in this forum, which is about writers exchanging views on their craft and offering guidance to those who are starting out.

You didn't answer the question.  Stop being evasive, man.  Read the post again.  The post isn't a topical forum post but a POLITICAL post.

Mandating covid vaccines in really sneaky ways is harmful. It is the ultimate sheep and herd mentality, I've  ever experienced in my lifetime.

Once they control what totally gose into our bodies, let the starving games begin, work for food.

Always been a rebel and love my work as its paid off in freedom and serious fun.

Disobey if its a lie or harmful especially. Or it's slavery for you.

    Blind Obedience

    People are afraid.
    Why, my dear?
    To cows in the field
    There's so much to fear!

    How to instill bravery?
    Let them know their rights.
    Let them know
    Their rights give them might.

    Do they know The Constitution
    Was created to give
    Happiness, prosperity
    And the freedom to live?

If they knew when to fight
    And what to preserve
    They'd find their voices
And step out of the herd.

In Britain in 1990 Margaret Thatcher (then Conservative Prime Minister) tried to introduce the ‘poll tax’, which not only met with mass demonstrations and riots across the country, but also led to mass civil disobedience when about 30% of the population refused to pay the new tax.  This led to the resignation of the Prime Minister and the new tax being abolished.

    Poll Tax Riots 31st March 1990:  https://youtu.be/IwAgaxbJyuk

It was history being repeated, as there was a similar ‘Peasants Revolt’ in 1381 when the British Government first tried to introduce a ‘poll tax’.  Except that in the Peasants Revolt against the poll tax in 1381 the peasants sacked the Tower of London and executed the ‘Royal Officials’.

As regards the present pandemic, the vast majority of the people in the UK, including all the political opposition parties, and the other political Governments in Scotland (Socialists), Northern Ireland (Right Wing) and Wales (Socialists) all gave the UK Conservative Party their full support in the handling the pandemic.  However, that’s all history now, as since a successful covid vaccine rollout in the UK, whereby around 90% of the adult population have all been vaccinated, on the 21st June this year the UK Government lifted the lockdown, and on the 19th July abolished all covid restrictions e.g. abolished social distancing and mandatory masks in England – So in the UK life has now returned to normal.
