Republicans rip Biden administration for massive food stamps increase: 'Abusing its authority'

Trump offered jobs, Biden offers a handout. ---

Republican lawmakers lambasted the Biden administration on Wednesday over its giant food-stamp expansion, accusing the White House of "abusing its authority" by unilaterally approving the largest permanent increase to benefits in the program's history – a move that could cost taxpayers an additional $20 billion annually.

Biden's historic food-stamp increase could hurt long-term economic growth, wages..

The Biden administration's massive food-stamp expansion, the largest permanent increase to benefits in the program's history, could cut economic growth over the next decade, according to a new study published last week.

Findings from the Penn Wharton Budget Model, a nonpartisan group at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, show the changes to the program will reduce GDP by 0.2% in the next 10 years. The negative impact becomes more pronounced in the future: By 2041, it will slash growth by 0.3%, and by 2051, the economy will shrink by 0.5%, the projections show.

The expansion will also weigh on wage growth, disproportionately hurting young people with high incomes as well as wealthy retirees.

Once again a decision that will certainly be detrimental to America.

It would appear this president is literally trying to destroy America...

Keep the rich --- And the poor, poor...

Perhaps some more research into the Penn Wharton group's previous failures.  They are a group aimed at backing smaller government programs and denying when subsidy dollars actually spur growth.

And those same people at the 'think tank' you quote, note that Biden's plans would not increase the taxes of those under $400,000, something you just disagreed with in another post.  So, you're posting sources that you then claim are wrong in another post within hours.

Penn-Wharton was addressing two different subjects, giant food-stamp expansion, and his Tax proposal. Apples to oranges.

It would appear they are a  nonpartisan group.

I would assume you are referring to the meme I posted on a thread I posted. In my view, the tax plan will affect the middle class and ultimately the poor. Just my view...

His tax plan is a shell game IMO.
