President Biden indicated that the vote wasn't strong enough to codify abortion rights.  He seems glum, stated that Washington D.C. is more divided than ever.

What's wrong with the states' jurisdiction in regards to this issue?

Government, regardless of the level, should not be legislating morality.   if particular politicians have their way I'm sure we will see many other moral positions being legislated.   I wonder what the path was for Iran in the eventual creation of their morality police??   I'm sure some would like to see us go in that direction.

I agree Faye. A pulpit is no place for a politician in a democracy.

In essence, I can agree with your sentiment. However, is not abortion a bit different due to it leads to ultimately, actually killing a fetus?

I can see our society has well evolved to accepting, and condoning abortion. Like it or not, this is where we are. Should we at best legislate rules on this form of killing? Such as many states have done. Laws that dictate the most humane means of killing, such as how many weeks, rape and incest provisions, etc.

I mean how does one get away with not including morals in abortion?  In my opinion, we need some laws when it comes to abortion. Gosh, not sure where it would lead if we have no laws on abortion.

I mean, it is very obvious to me, morals have been backseated when it comes to abortion.  Well taken out of the equation. So, some laws would not hurt.

I think we are already headed in that direction.

Our Pledge of Allegiance says, "...one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all." How can we pledge that when there is so much inequality of treatment of citizens among the states? Every time I say the pledge now, I gag when I get to that part.

... even more reason to pledge that.
