It’s beyond ironic that President Biden has single-handedly assured [Mohammed bin Salman] can escape accountability when it was President Biden who promised the American people he would do everything to hold him accountable. Not even the Trump administration did this.

The Biden administration has told a US court that Mohammed bin Salman should be granted sovereign immunity in a civil case involving the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, effectively ending a last-ditch attempt to hold the Saudi crown prince legally accountable for the 2018 killing.

In a filing released late on Thursday night, the Biden administration said the crown prince’s recent promotion to the role of prime minister meant that he was “the sitting head of government and, accordingly, immune” from the lawsuit.

Biden begged for oil and now he kisses ass over a man's grave. Sick, corrupt, slimy...

I am truly lost on this case.  Why is a US court concerned with what happened in a foreign consulate in a foreign country?

Politically it might mean something, but legally?  No US court has any jurisdiction whatsoever in that consulate, in that city or in that country.  What possible reason does Biden have to be giving instructions to a US court about what happened in Istanbul?

You tell me why Biden is sticking his nose in all this?  I mean this story broke late last Thursday, and what followed was the Saudis putting out a statement on Monday they would not be pumping more oil...

Driving the news: The Biden administration's declaration was made in a court filing in the suit filed by the journalist's fiancée, Hatice Cengiz, who also slammed the action, and the rights group Khashoggi founded, Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN).

Thursday -- "A State Department spokesperson said in an emailed statement the Justice Department filed the "suggestion of immunity," at the request of the State Department, "based on longstanding and well-established principles" of law.

This includes customary international law, "which the United States has consistently and across administrations applied to heads of state, heads of government, and foreign ministers while they are in office," the spokesperson said.

"This Suggestion of Immunity does not reflect an assessment on the merits of the case. It speaks to nothing on broader policy or the state of relations. This was purely a legal determinati'

Did Joe play, just got no pay...

I mean why the hell else would the Biden administration be sticking its nose in a lawsuit filed by the journalist's fiancée?

And the media has made little mention of the story.

This has sticky hands all over it. And we know who always has an ice cream cone stuck in his face.

Nation/World/Sovereign leaders are immune to any such lawsuits.

That is the way it works.

This has no relevance to anything of import, its just useless noise that someone wrote/reported about.

The damage Biden has done I detailed in another thread regarding Saudi Arabia, it is now beyond repair atleast so long as the Biden Administration remains.

On just one issue, disrespecting and dismissing the Saudis, he has practically doomed our nation.  His arrogance and audacity pushed Saudi Arabia into a partnership with China (almost as if Biden were working for China's best interests).

Saudi Arabia's partnership with China will Collapse the US Economy, not today, not tomorrow, but we will begin to feel it soon enough.

Saudi Arabia just reiterated its commitment to China as its "most reliable partner and supplier of crude oil".

They will trade in the Chinese Yuan, not the US Dollar.

This signals the beginning of the end of the Dollar, the Petro Dollar, as the world's reserve.  It signals the collapse of the American economy is soon to come.

And this most assuredly is on Biden who unlike Obama, or Trump, or any prior President chose to insult and threaten the Saudi Sovereign leader, rather than pay his respects... Biden is making enemies everywhere, our media refuses to report just how disastrous his foreign relations are.
