As a medical student and researcher, I staunchly supported the efforts of the public health authorities when it came to COVID-19. I believed that the authorities responded to the largest public health crisis of our lives with compassion, diligence, and scientific expertise. I was with them when they called for lockdowns, vaccines, and boosters.
I was wrong. We in the scientific community were wrong. And it cost lives.
I can see now that the scientific community from the CDC to the WHO to the FDA and their representatives, repeatedly overstated the evidence and misled the public about its own views and policies, including on natural vs. artificial immunity, school closures and disease transmission, aerosol spread, mask mandates, and vaccine effectiveness and safety, especially among the young. All of these were scientific mistakes at the time, not in hindsight. Amazingly, some of these obfuscations continue to the present day.

Unfortunately, some of it does continue to this day!
It is refreshing to see that this one, sees the harm (in many cases irreparable harm) which has been done.
Mandates/threats of losing jobs/careers, shaming tactics, pitting vaxxed against unvaxxed, group against group, etc.... took the place of reason, common sense, instincts and case by case by case necessity. In an instant, an individual's "right to choose" didn't mean so much any longer......
Too little, too late!!!
Yes. I do feel it's too late as well. I hope we have learned from this insanity.
Unfortunately there is nothing in the OP's link to support it's statements. Statements that actually conflict with themselves, first saying we were wrong to vaccinate then saying that denying vaccines cost lives.
Mankind has known for centuries how to fight disease, even if we had no clue what was causing it. The concept of isolation, for example, preceded the black plague in the 1300's - should we now declare it doesn't work because we demand our "rights" to infect others? I think not. We have virtually eliminated certain diseases in this country via a strong vaccination program; should we now decide that vaccines are of no value because a few don't like being required to take them to protect the rest of the country? Again, I think not.
I hear you. I refer to Sweden, where citizens have a right to choose to take the jab or not. I believe, 85% of their population are vaccinated.

So I borrowed this idea from Misha to start a new thread. For me, I can give one particular instance where I think science and religion/spirituality are complementary, as crossing each other's boundaries. When I think of energy; where Kirlian photography has proven the existence of the energy...

A lady online made a video with this title, lockdownism. Except she had no share link to it. Covid had all the markings of totalitarian in her video. Not in my lifetime, have I had any authorities telling me on who can work and who can not. Or on how I must travel. Or, whom of my love ones, I...

When I was eight years old living on Nebo U.S. Marine base near Barstow, California in the middle of the Mojave Desert I had my first encounter with a UFO. It was in the morning while hunting for lizards. I truly don’t know what I observed high in the sky in the near distance. It did not have a...
