Another cheap political ploy in the making - In my humble view ---- LET THE CIRCUS BEGIN.

"Jordan warned Bragg that if news reports of a possible Trump indictment are accurate, Bragg’s actions "will erode confidence in the evenhanded application of justice and unalterably interfere in the court of the 2024 presidential election."

"The House Judiciary Committee is demanding that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg testify before Congress in the wake of his "unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority," as he reportedly considers indicting former President Trump in charges related to alleged hush money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, sent a letter, exclusively obtained by Fox News Digital, to Bragg Monday morning demanding his testimony. The letter was also signed by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., and House Committee on Administration Chairman Brian Steil, R-Wis."

"In light of the serious consequences of your actions, we expect that you will testify about what plainly appears to be a politically motivated prosecutorial decision," Jordan wrote.

The potential charges stem from the $130,000 hush money payment then-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen made to adult film star Stormy Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, in the weeks leading up to the 2016 presidential election in exchange for her silence about an alleged sexual encounter with Trump in 2006.

Federal prosecutors in the U.S. attorneys office for the Southern District of New York opted out of charging Trump related to the Stormy Daniels payment in 2019, even as Cohen implicated him as part of his plea deal. The Federal Election Commission also tossed its investigation into the matter in 2021.

"The legal theory underlying your reported prosecution appears to be tenuous and untested," Jordan wrote." read on if interested

And I ask ---- Is that all there is?

I must chuckle at the desperation of the Democratic party with this very obvious political
    ploy.

Chuckle now. You won't think it is so funny when laws are enforced. Not democrat laws. Not republican laws. The laws of the land that apply to everyone.

Which law do you think might be enforced?  So far I haven't understand just what Trump will be charged with - certainly paying someone not to speak out is not illegal.

"Bragg’s office hasn’t announced how it is investigating Trump. Based on the witnesses called, the inquiry seems to focus on the hush-money payment, which wasn’t necessarily illegal."

I have to agree, he needs to be nailed for something far more substantive.

          You're right.
It has been explained to you several times.

          You haven't understand it.

In simpler language, you don't know either.  Got it.

Trying to overturn an election is. I think we may be splitting hairs here.

You think NYC is going to indict Trump for trying to overturn an election?  I hope you're wrong, for that would absolutely prove the claims that it is all political.

Thus far I have not been able to ascertain what laws have been broken, Braggs is unclear about what he is indicting Trump on. Have you ascertained what laws Trump broke in this current pending indictment?

I would guess if he is indicted the AG must actually site charges, and what laws Trump broke in New York.

But so far,  I agree our laws apply to everyone.

Cohen went to jail for these crimes - campaign finance.  That Trump committed fraud by classifying them as legal expenses ups them to felonies.  Cohen used his phone to record notes and has supplied a recording of Trump telling him exactly how to commit the fraud with a similar payment to Karen MacDougal.

On the hypocrisy front, you've got the right whining about companies questioning whether the Hunter laptop story was Russian disinformation and choosing to suppress it before 2020.  In the Stormy Daniels case, you have a candidate illegally suppressing a story that could have damaged him and the right rushes to his defense.  Someday the right will hopefully come to some consistent stance on the issues.

Just like the GOP says they believe in state's rights, but when a state chooses to enforce its laws, they then try and obstruct justice by harassing the District Attorney in the case.

Where are the statesmen Republican senators of 1974 who policed their own party telling President Nixon to resign because if he waited to be impeached he would be convicted for his crimes?

I understand that Bragg is among the George Soros puppets, bought and paid for, it all makes perfect sense.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office has issued a statement after top House Republicans demanded that Bragg testifies to Congress on a possible indictment of former President Trump.

"We will not be intimidated by attempts to undermine the justice process, nor will we let baseless accusations deter us from fairly applying the law," a spokesperson for Bragg’s office told Fox News Digital.

"In every prosecution, we follow the law without fear or favor to uncover the truth. Our skilled, honest and dedicated lawyers remain hard at work," the spokesperson added.

"PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK! "IT'S TIME!!!"

If he’s indicted "this is an all-out war"

NY DA ‘should be put in jail’

“It’s going to blow up our country"

    Intimidation. Obstruction of justice?

    Btw, in another case...

A bomb threat was called into a lower Manhattan court on Tuesday just before a judge was set to hear a $250 million lawsuit against former President Trump.

The civil lawsuit, brought against Trump by New York Attorney General Letitia James (D), alleges that Trump, his company and family inflated the value of their real estate assets. The suit was filed in September.
