This morning is the start of a finite number of days I have to put to some good use.
In 2010 I was voted one of the best new hubbers on the writing site, HubPages. That was back when these pages had rich blood coursing through the words that made up its veins and strengthening sinew that connected its creative muscles to its inspirational bones.
Today it is a better use of my limited time to read something I will learn from or be enriched by, to add words of some value to books that will outlive me, to study the faces that share my DNA who might actually accomplish what I have only made an attempt.
Some here have helped me learn there really is another angle to be considered when looking at an issue just from my point of view. Some have moved me to regret still lugging around an old block of conviction and even managed to chisel off a sharp edge that did more harm than good. You have added something to my days.
And others here will add years to my life by their absence from it.
    It’s a new day. And time’s wasting.

Most certainly, you will be missed as an intelligent voice reason on this forum....

        I second the sentiment.

But I get it, Kathleen. Mucho exito!

Kathleen, this site has had its ups and downs and gone through many changes over the years. Many great writers and friends have left, but some of us stalwarts remain, for one reason or another.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences and i hope the rest of this year and the future holds good things for you, here, or in any other endeavour.

Thanks. This is the second time this year I've tried to walk away. This time will take. It has become too much of a waste of my valuable time. But I will miss - some of you. Thanks.

Kathleen, we are in perilous times. You can never persuade the die hards, you never will. Challenging people to think and reason as there are many outside the participating forum who can see your comments and follow the line of discussion may be as good as it gets.

Cred: That very good argument is what brought me back the first time. I hope you are right that these discussions can influence those who follow without participating. If nothing else, they are witnessing the "die hards" and hopefully seeing their arguments for what they are.

Good luck fighting the good fight.

They will, they will have to. I like to presume that most people are honest enough that when presented with opposing views will sort the fact from the fiction. I gamble a great deal on it, hopefully not to be disappointed.

Best of luck to you, but you might just look in on us every now and then....

This site is a nice hosting site for your own writings, but these forums are toxic as the amount of far-right threads steeped in misinformation is overwhelming.  It's like Fox News lite thanks to one or two users that think we all need to see the falsehoods they are fed daily.

Valeant: You said it. Look at how few people participate any more. Look at the length of some comments (not sharing research just pontificating). Look at the personal insults. The number of views on my hubs does jump when I participate. But there are other venues where I can get differing opinions to expand my point of view without the meanness.  As Credence encouraged, I will check in from time to time to see how my war buddies are doing, but for me, this site is not healthy..
