America’s New Consensus by the Manhattan Institute (July 16, 2024)
A National Survey Analysis of the Political and Policy Preferences of Likely 2024 Voters
    https://manhattan.institute/article/ame … -consensus

The Manhattan Institute for Policy Research is an extremely conservative, corporate-funded, New York-based policy group. The Manhattan Institute was founded by former CIA director William J. Casey in 1978.

Jam packed with graphics and written assessments of the current issues and more.

" Between July 7th and 13th of 2024, the Manhattan Institute polled a representative sample of 2,100 likely voters across the U.S. on their feelings about elected leaders, the 2024 election, and various social and economic policy issues.

The survey was conducted based on a sample drawn from a national voter file, then weighted to match the population on gender, age, college education, partisanship, race, and 2020 vote. Responses were collected using mixed methods, including a mix of SMS-to-web and online outreach. The poll’s margin of error is 2.7%"

Notation: At the end of the introduction there is an opportunity to view the demographics with two links. It is titled: Full Results Available: Toplines, Crosstabs

Notation: In case you don't already know. The writing on some of the graphics is kind of small and may be frustrating. A trick is to right click on the image and open in a new link where the image is bigger offering clarity.

Does it say what you already know?

Was there anything new for you?

    Thoughts, criticisms, and accolades?.

I'm sure they have shifted a bit after this weekends events.

Might give a better picture if they do that in a couple of weeks.

Probably in some respects, most likely not many. Would it exceed the margin of error is questionable. A new variable was introduced affecting emotions I would suspect, yet how much that pertains to general attitude is debatable.

I imagine both campaigns appreciate the thoroughness of the two surveys used. AI does amazing things as far as how to target the populace. I do have to give kudos to the respondents. Answering over 130 queries takes patience and one might say dedication.

I think for those committed to a Party or particular issue that is correct.

I think in terms of who shows up to vote, who is motivated to vote, that may be different.

An interesting video I watched was of a disaffected Democrat, a rational woman that was not going to vote in this election, who spoke to what Trump did after the assassination attempt... the show of strength, the wherewithal to 'rally the troops' rather than cower in fear.

That will go a long way... that moment speaks volumes to millions of people who until that moment probably had a very different opinion of who Trump was.

In contrast to that, you have Biden.  And the shenanigans going on within his Party.

It wouldn't surprise me to find that that single picture wins the election for Trump.  Face bloodied, fist raised, mouth open and screaming in anger...and all in front of an American flag flying proudly in the breeze.

It is a very powerful image.

Personally, for me, I found his amazingly quick reaction in dropping to the floor, followed by struggling to be seen through the mass of SS agents very telling.  Neither of those - the immediate recognition of being shot and then the courage to raise up, be seen and gesture - were in my image of Trump.

              I agree.

You find out what a person is made of when the shit hits the fan.

It doesn't hit the fan any harder than when you are being shot at.

Trump sealed it with his speech last night, he is not the same arrogant, its all about me, guy that he was 8 years ago.

When he says he is doing it for the Country, that he wants to bring back jobs to Americans, that he wants to help the American people have better lives... he comes off as legit.

If I'm going to 'follow a leader' it is going to be someone who after getting shot at, stands up, pumps his fist in the air, and says 'FIGHT'!!!

I have no interest in a leader that stands on stage and poops his pants, can't remember where he is... or his replacement that cackles when being told something tragic happened or whose claim to fame prior to being picked to be the VP is being the girlfriend of Montel Williams.
