    In my lifetime I seen a president assassinated;
    a president get us into a war that took 50,000 of my generation's lives;
    a president resign in shame;
    a president expeditiously increase homelessness and illegally trade arms for hostages;
    a president impeached for lying about being unfaithful to his wife;
    a president  whose lies led us into 20 years of war that took the lives of my children's generation;
    a president who was impeached twice in one term and failed to allow a peaceful transition of power; incited an assault on our Capitol, and became a convicted felon;

    and  six million Americans just put him in office again.

    In 2016 he took office because of a fluke. And God sent us a pandemic.

    This time we did it on purpose.

      I am right there with you... I understand and see your perspective...

      Until we hit the BOLD.

      And THIS is why:

      No matter what you see Trump as... he is FIRST and FOREMOST the people's F___ Y___!!!!  To the "establishment" To the "government" that LIED to US about the Iraq War... about the Syrian War.... about the Libyan War... Benghazi...

      They LIED to us about NAFTA and Glass Steagal... they LIED as the chemicals they allowed Big Pharma to put in our foods poisoned our kids.

      The American people have had enough...

      The World has had enough too... that is why they are flocking to BRICS...
      That is why they are aligning with Russia and China...

      As the Biden Administration walked us into WWIII...

      And gave us 25% inflation in 4 years as they ROBBED us...

      I don't know what happens if Trump is NOT successful... because I think the American citizens are VERY angry with their government about all this and we didn't even touch on the Immigration problems...

      No... that wasn't an Insurrection on Jan 6... and you know that, deep in your heart, but I think this election showed something about Americans...

      They aren't so easily cowed or deceived...

        You summed it up perfectly. I believe some people need a few days for it to really sink in. It’s tough when the illusion of being on a high pedestal suddenly bursts. Reality hits hard when faced with the fact that a majority voted for Trump. It makes them think, “Maybe it’s me, not them.” Either way, they’re feeling pretty defeated right now.

        What rings in my ears was something Harris said at all her rallies ---

        It really fits Trump's mindset, and one can see he lives by it ---

        " When you know what you stand for, you know what to fight for.”

        Is this not the best?

          I probably could have done better...

          Really needs a better perspective...

          Trump was the average American's FU to DC his 1st election...

          One Pheonix Resurrection later...

          Trump is now the People's Representative... the people sent him back to FIX it... whatever that takes...

          And it WASN'T just Trump... I think he knows that... he is there because Tulsi and Robert and Elon got behind him and said it is a package deal.

          THEY ... Americans voted for a team to go make change happen.

            Exactly right. I saw this team come together in the final months of the campaign and felt the surge of energy they brought, pure electricity. Each of them—Trump, Tulsi, Robert, and Elon—has unique strengths that I truly believe can lead to great achievements.

            I guess you can see I am stoked... Hey Ken, we came close to the fire.

              Can I ask what you find are strengths in RFK Jr?   I mean I'm sure you're aware of his penchant for some very outlandish conspiracy theories.

                This from a card carrying member of the Great Insurrection Theory, to destroy the United States of America using a fire extinguisher and a flagpole as the sole weapons?

                  But maybe just answer the question? What are the man's strengths?  Sometimes the apple falls very far from the tree.. like onto a passing crazy train.

      I normally give politics a wide berth on HP.  But after reading your comment, I have to state that I agree with you, Kathleen, especially in light of the facts.  I’m an Independent who did not vote for Donald Trump for obvious reasons.  He won based on issues surrounding the economy and immigration, and the fact that many voters, I’m ashamed to say, are not ready to put woman in the Oval Office.

      In addition, Trump did not win the majority vote of all eligible voters in this country, but rather approximately one-third.  Many of those who did cast their ballot for him do not have any respect or admiration for the man, and this includes a number of Republican members of Congress inside the Beltway.  What are they saying about him behind closed doors?  “Get him in here, use him the way he uses others to push through our agenda, and then out he goes.  Our main issue of concern are control issues that may prove controversial when and if he goes “off the rails”.”

      None of this is surprising, I’m sad to say, and was anticipated.

        He won based on a lot of things... for sure...

        Yes economy is a top one, immigration is another...

        Four years of escalating wars.

        Four years of challenging norms, men competing with women in sports, child sex changes and drag shows.

        What is sad... they ran a campaign which said to America:

        Ignore what we have done for the last 4 years... vote for Harris, because she is a woman and a POC

        And now they want to blame Americans for not choosing Harris because she is a woman and POC.

        Maybe the chickens came home to roost... and it had nothing to do with her being a woman... or a POC.

          Ken,

          Do you think the left is in denial of how awful a candidate harris was in this election?  Maybe it was her word salads, mindless ramblings, inability to talk to people, to hold a press conference, all together it made her virtually unelectable.

          To blame this landslide victory on the fact that she was a female is simply intellectually lazy.  It wasn't because she was a female, it's because she was a horrible candidate.

        For all of Donald Trump’s sins and lies, I don’t blame him, I blame Democrats. Democrats are going to have to find a more moderate position. The American populace, including blacks and Latinos, are intolerant of these far right leanings at the risk of our safety and our children’s sanity. There is some good to both parties. Neither side is completely right, nor completely wrong, hence the close races since we continue to have.The Bible teaches us how to behave. Can Democrats not see where these extreme liberal policies lead? There’s a difference between not judging others and allowing sinfulness to go unchecked. The Republicans finally got desperate enough to do anything in their power to use their checks and balances. They had to do so to bring this country back to its knees and it senses. That said, I’m afraid for our country now. We have now put someone leaning exactly the opposite direction with just as extreme a view. We have opted for autocracy and fascism. May God help us all find the middle again, too see our sins, and may God bless America. We are about to face the greatest challenge we have ever faced.

          "There’s a difference between not judging others and allowing sinfulness to go unchecked."

          It is not the role of government to check "sinfulness..".

      I have no idea of what “the left is in denial” means as I am an Independent.  I wrote an article years ago on Hubpages about politics in America, titled “America Isn’t Easy,” which addresses the challenges we face, the intellectually lazy posturing of “us versus them,” and more.

      I did not mention anything about Harris being a POC.  Harris won over 70 million votes. Did certain voters not vote for her because she is a woman?  Absolutely.

      I will not comment any further on this thread. Enjoy your weekend, everyone.

      Ah yes, I see your point. Are we "From many, one" as our founders decided, or "In God we trust" as Congress decided during the Cold War? If we are the former, we are all the same, sinners and saints. If we are the latter, it would seem that trusting in the institutions of God as a nation bears some responsibility toward Him. Capital murder then should go away just like abortion. Regardless, I think the voter's just decided they would like to see more God in government.
