What do you think about Trump's bluffing about the Comey tapes?

For 41 days neither Donald or any other WH spokesperson would confirm whether the much discussed conversation between Trump and Comey was recorded in some manner. After DT tweeted Comey "better hope there weren't tapes" he proceeded to jerk the American public around as to what his tweet actually meant. Do you care whether Trumps plays games in the WH, or do you think he's doing the proper thing to allow the public to have faith in his decisions on important issues?

Maybe I hate DT and maybe I love him. But for sure I love how he jerks your chain as though you are a monkey. Go dis way and go dis way and those of us who laugh do not laugh at POTUS we laugh at you. You are such hacks.
Oh and do not stop for a second. He will be impeached tomorrow. Excuse me you impeached in February.
Should we now shoot for October or maybe January.
Randy, you are kind of loosing it you started this last January. Failed of 6 months.
What is your next black helicopter UFO theory?
Randy you are still accusing and your president is still teflon. You just must be right and the rest of us idiots.
You act like such a repetitive loser.
I can go back and check your allegations to January. And you are not proven once right. Can I hook you up for a bed for the night because no women would keep putting up with your wrong wrong and I am sure more wrong. When you hate you become blind,.

A usual non-answer from you, Eric. I you really want to go back to our discussions you'll see a pattern of avoiding the subject of the question. Do you actually believe all of the investigations are over? You're the one who's "loosing it." LOL!

OMG another Austin Randy spectacular conspiracy wingnot approach. Yes Austin Randy has called impeach every week and has been wrong from "under investigation" to "obstruction of Justice" it is about Randy. He is the one claiming fake news.

Eric, you didn't even address the question in your answer. Anyone except a Trump fan could easily understand what the question entailed. And point out how many times I've mentioned the word "impeached" in my queries or just cool yore tater. LOL!

B4 Trump, after Trump: this kind of stuff is SO heartbreaking! Most of us know that Eric is usually a fairly nice guy who claims faith in God as his guiding light. How Trump has twisted good people's minds to hate like this is beyond amazing.

Catherine, you'll notice the Trump fans never answer the questions but rail against the questioner instead. It's because they don't have the intelligence to provide a good answer to the queries.

There is no OofJ, no collusion, no election tampering and the notion of tapes got you to follow all the Lemmings. SCOTUS just affirmed his ban. Congress moving forward. Just hate is a loss

Obstruction of Justice = trying to force Comey to do something that in his professional judgment was too soon. Trump's relationship with Comey was inappropriate. Obama would never have gotten away with this stunt - even bcuz of inexperience.

    13. Randy Godwin profile image61
Randy Godwinposted 7 years agoin reply to this

I never thought there were tapes, Eric. Anyone familiar with DT's attempts to be crafty knew he was lying as usual. My earlier comment was to show you the investigations have just begun and you have no clue as to what they will find out.

    14. Ericdierker profile image49
Ericdierkerposted 7 years agoin reply to this

The term is misleading. It is the fruit of politics. Remember Clinton? No way that was perjury.Tapes were a good misdirection and a check on Comey not to also mislead. Darn deceivers. Why hate a right and not a left? Truth is a casualty.

    15. Randy Godwin profile image61

  3. jrk1121 profile image48

    Randy,
Trumps bluffing of the tapes on Twitter isn't much different than your posts here on HubPages. Silly rhetoric to get attention. Trump's bluff got results, what did you get besides an applause for your partner in crime? Yes Dear is about all you can say to most of her comments.

To answer your question, given the facts and using a similar tactic during a divorce. Recordings are the best way to keep someone honest and stop them from lying. Trump did what he did because of people like you. He now has proof of his claims, which is much better than most of the rhetoric unverifiable garbage political posts I have seen here lately.

Comey, Lynch, Clinton, Obama There just isn't enough space to cover the previous administrations' deceit. Not really a Trump fan myself but given the options, he was the best choice we had. He is our POTUS, nothing he has done so far compares to what most others have done, I don't have enough characters to create that itemized list. So I choose to stand behind him. Divided we fall, that seems to be tho goal of your recent posts. To help divide our nation.

    Fact Quotes:

First and foremost, Trump’s bluff forced Comey to confirm publicly — on his own volition — Trump’s claim that Comey had, indeed, told the president on three separate occasions that he was not under investigation.

The media hilariously predicted, wrongly, that Comey would say otherwise, based on “sources.” Indeed, Comey could have said he did not recall telling the president that. But with the possibility of “tapes” looming, he had to make an admission to protect the broader credibility of his effort to damage the president through his testimony to the Senate.

So Comey confirmed Trump’s claim — in his written testimony to the Senate, rather than being forced to concede the truth in more dramatic fashion in open testimony. In other words, Trump bluffed Comey into volunteering information that he was right.

    1. Misfit Chick profile image79
Misfit Chickposted 7 years agoin reply to this

Comey wasn't afraid of TAPES. What he said wasn't wrong for him to be worried & he had good reasons for not bringing the issue Trump was trying to bully him over, to the public. Trump has no respect for gov protocols. Justice obstructing bully.

    2. Randy Godwin profile image61
Randy Godwinposted 7 years agoin reply to this

Yes James, Trump is so brilliant he got the ignoramuses to believe his many lies and the bluffing of the tapes is no exception. And you fell for that bs as well. Keep up the bad work! I suppose you still think Flynn is a good guy. LOL!

Comeys actions sure tell a different story. The last establishment had no respect for the protocols. Comey and Lynch are a prime example of that.

I think it was a good move. One can see President  Trump is a businessman first, and very good at covering all bases.  The way Trump constructed his statement ( "James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!") certainly did not incriminate him for being the one that taped.  It was good insurance to keep Comey from  adding untruths to his testimony.

To answer your question, I voted for change, I appreciate his candid way of conducting himself, he is  very transparent. In regards to important decisions, it's clear he  listens to his cabinet, and seeks advice from those that he feels have expertise in any given subject. For instance he listens to his military advisors, instead of thinking himself an expert on conducting field operations in the Middle East.

Yes, he is a president that is non- presidential. However, we that voted him in voted for just that. We want transparency, and change, and he is delivering.

But Sharon, Trump said he knew more than the generals. And as far as transparency is concerned, why is he hiding from anyone except Faux News? Why does he not allow live coverage of some press briefings? Why did he wait 41 days to explain his threat?

Randy Godwin -  My opinion in regards to why he is not televising press conferences. I think he is pushing back,  communicating via Twitter and Facebook. it's forcing people to check out what he is doing daily that media does not report. Pretty smart

Sharon, the first thing a tyrant or dictator does it try to keep people from having a close look at what he's doing. Trump hates the press--except for the looney Fox News--and would cancel all briefings if he could. R U against freedom of the press?

Trump didn't bluff; he just carefully worded a statement so people on the left would go nuts.  That's what Trump does.  He plays people on the left like a violin.  It is amazing to watch.  The left can't defeat Trump and that is what drives them crazy.  Everything the left has predicted about Trump has turned out to be wrong.  Attacking him in elections has led to the GOP winning all 4 run-off elections.  I like how those on the left have reacted.  Their inability to comprehend what is going on will assure Trump and the GOP being voted into majorities for a long time.  It's fun to watch and read the reactions based on their lack of understanding.  Keep showing me how much you on the left don't know. I enjoy it.
