Along with the typical back and forth banter on my Facebook feed the above image has arrived now and then. Will it solve the present problem of ideological divide while have no ill consequences of magnitude enough to matter? What say you?

    Thoughts, criticisms, accolades and/or commentary?

Erase all of the 'green lines' and the letters;C-A-N-A-D-A and let's take it all.

Musk can make a hyper-loop tunnel between California and Quebec and they can be the 'vacation' states. We'll take the truckers and Northwest territory folks. I'm not sure what we could do with Montreal, but something will work out. Maybe they could be the Triple-A farm for Quebec???

      GA ;-)

Imperialism? I read a great book on American Imperialism years ago. The term dates back to 1840.

If you're just talking about the ideologies shown on the new map, my first thought was, yes, this could help solve the problem of split ideologies. But then I started thinking more, especially having lived alongside many Canadians. While most lean left, not all of them do—though the majority do. Many have moved to Mexico or are part-time residents like myself. A lot of them express dissatisfaction with the socialist-leaning government in Canada.

It got me thinking—U.S. liberals probably wouldn't fare as well in a socialist-leaning nation. They'd likely become uncomfortable with all the government control. I feel like American liberals are different from Canadian liberals in this respect. The Canadian liberals tend to expect more government involvement, and I’m not sure U.S. liberals would do as well with something like the Canadian healthcare system, which is based on viability as you age. It’s complicated, and frankly, not very pretty for the elderly. So, would American liberals become disillusioned and start flooding back as migrants at our borders?

It certainly would be great for conservatives, not to deal with the great divide of ideologies.

I guess if one thinks long and hard enough advantages for both the left and right can be discovered.

I can agree. It would be a very interesting experiment.  There most likely would be benefits for both sides. I think it would be worth trying. Our great divide is here to stay. Not a comfortable way to live.

Well, living in California, I guess the state as a whole may like it, but I don't. BTW . . . from your previous post on this thread I thought long and hard about healthcare, yet felt maybe a different OP thread.

P.S. I saw this 'map' on FB as well, and laughed it off with a laughing emoji. Most did.

So, once again I did not get your context--- Humor?  Then why this?

        Thoughts, criticisms, accolades and/or commentary?

I don't understand the response. As I shared with GA in another post you may have missed, "some say I am dense and I agree half of the time."

Hey, it's hard to express thoughts online chats.  I try to pick up the context, from the word shared, or the questions.  Sometimes I don't follow most conversations fully, and try to respond to those that are addressed to me.  As you note I responded first to your OP and responded from there on. Here is the context(your message) I responded to. I did not note humor.

Have I missed something--- where is the humor?   I just shared my thoughts.  I will say the photo is humorous.

After all that! I love your threads always offer a break from the crazy stuff LOL --- And always interesting researched, well-written, and always offer food for thought.

I was wondering about that map. Whether it is about breaking the boundaries or building a wall. But, Green means no boundary/wall.
