This is rather puerile and something that I would not expect from the POTUS.

Is it petty jealousy, based on a foundation of misogyny that is characterized by Trump males, generally?

Why does Trump hide and communicate from the gutter in this Truth Social site of his? It is hardly presidential. Why is he wasting time and political capital in a banter with an entertainment personality?

If he thinks and acts like a petulant toddler, is his judgement and actions in other far more important matters to be seen in a different light?

But THIS is what you voted for, Rightwing America

Meh, if he wants to make trash comments about TSwizzle on a trash social media site, that's on him. The only qualms I have with it is that she's a corpo-sponsored psyop, and no one in leadership goes after the corpo greed that elevates her because it also elevates them. He's pandering to the male youth that feels ostracized by society as a whole, and Swift supports politics and social movements that further marginalize young heterosexual males.

Taylor is hot, I'd smash without question if she'd also be willing to have my children, but as she ages she is becoming what the youth would refer to as, "bogged."

Her youth is fading, she has a rabid fanbase that the male youth hate as a majority regardless of her value as an artist, and corpos keep shoving her in everyone's face.

Trump is just playing on the contentious nature of the ordeal, and it speaks volumes in many ways depending on your perspective. I see social media as a cesspit where you go to drop off a load of poo, and I prefer not to wallow and revel in poo.

I guess that I come from a generation that believed that the POTUS was above participating in petty gossip columns. Where the commander and chief would at least try not to show his “ass” before the entire world. It was a man to admire, to look up to providing an example for us all to follow, not anymore.

Really, Kyler, why is male youth so put upon? Are they threatened by women and their achievements? Yes, with each passing decade things change and making improvement on the goal of equal opportunity for achievement and success for all is a noble one.

Trump plays on a resentment that is futile on its face. It amounts to a childish pout. What politics and social movements are marginalizing these insecure young men? Why be jealous of Taylor’s success in the entertainment business? No one can maintain that fresh look of youth indefinitely, I and many others can attest to that. She is a flash in the pan, so why get upset?

I am appalled that Trump prefers to wallow and revel in poo. And you know, that is not Presidential…..

She is just an entertainment personality, why all the heft and focus over her? Before Trump got involved, I had never heard of this woman.

What does an old 79 year old goat have to say about a woman young enough to be his granddaughter?

I agree with the sentiments in your first paragraph, but it seems the times are going more the way of increased social media swill from politicians of all levels. It reaches the youth better.

I'll keep it short and concise, if not a bit too literal: Young males are adopting the, "No pussy, no participation," mindset. This is a very common saying among male youth on the right, it's referred to dismissively on the left as, "the incel pandemic."

If I had to break down the entire incel, anti-male/female, gender war movements and the gender wars themselves, it'd take an entire series of articles. It's a very serious issue for those of us actively dating and trying to move up in the world in conjunction with it. Identity politics has made a very scary impression on the youth.

As for why Trump comments on her, I assume it's because it gets his face plastered on the media and fuels the underlying goals of the gender/sociopolitcal wars whatever they may be. Taylor's fanbase is widely looked upon by the youth right as rabid leftist extremists as it concerns gender and dating norms of our times.

Kyler, your candor in regards to a touchy topic is appreciated. The explanations you put forth are most interesting.

As for the first paragraph, I expect the POTUS to be above idle banter and gossip.

I needed to get a exact definition:

Incel” is a portmanteau of “involuntary celibate.” In its most basic form, incel describes someone, usually a male, who is frustrated by their lack of sexual experiences.
            —-
Are these guys really frustrated because they cannot get a “roll in the hay”?
The idea of certain guys having trouble attracting women is nothing new, why create a movement over it? It is about being charming, persuasive and respectful of who they are in total, there are no shortcuts.  These right wing guys need to realize women are not interested in dating Neanderthals. All this “tradwife” stuff belongs to the Flintstones. No person wants to be dismissed and evaluated solely on their physical attractiveness or lack thereof. It is not realistic adult territory. We have gone from June Cleaver to Sally Ride. A misogynist persona is not going to attract women today. Everyone wants their humanity and potentials respected as I told another right wing type in this forum. No one wants to live their lives based on traditional social roles crafted by others as to what they should desire and aspire to, the men don’t, why should they?

Dragging women by the hair with the “me Tarzan, you Jane, wont work today, things have changed since the 19th century and most of us, men and women, are not anxious to exhume these kinds of ideas. Does the sustaining of the ideals of Western civilization really rely on the suppression of women, or of any other group for that matter?

I don’t know why it is a serious issue, why date someone that treats you with disrespect?

We have much of this in our own community, men resenting women’s progress falling back on the traditional gender roles as an excuse. I tell the young brother, it is not so much that you fall behind more than you are not keeping up. Our black women has worked hard in the education milieu. And while I am the staunch lefty and civil rights advocate, I have no use for the aggressively lazy. These sorts of men in our community can probably explain why Trump got more support from Black men in 2024 than before.

I understand now, that Trump is just stoking the furnace and stirring up the kinds of men that readily support him and it is not good look.

In other news, they just found 12 bodies near her Rhode Island home. They're having a field day with it.

Now that is ironic and quite a shocker.

President Trump’s post,  “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT’?”, caused a stir, with critics calling it childish or a distraction. But honestly, the outrage feels overblown and misses the point.

First off, he has every right to speak his mind, even as president. Free speech doesn’t stop at the Oval Office door. Whether it’s a policy stance or a jab at a pop star, the public deserves to see the full person, not a polished PR product. Love it or not, Trump’s always been unfiltered, and that’s part of why millions support him.

Second, the idea that this kind of post somehow takes away from running the country is just outdated. Presidents can handle serious matters and still connect with people online. Social media is a modern tool for political communication, and Trump knows exactly how to use it to stir conversation, set the tone, and keep his base energized.

And let’s be real: this wasn’t just about Taylor Swift. She’s become a symbol in the culture wars, actively supporting left-wing causes. His post is a swipe at the media-Hollywood-politics complex his base sees as hostile. It’s humor, sure, but it’s also a signal to supporters who are tired of cultural elites calling the shots.

Finally, focusing on this post while ignoring major policy issues, from the economy to the border, says more about Trump’s critics than it does about him. He’s governing, and he's engaging. If anything, this shows he hasn’t changed: still bold, still willing to poke the bear, and still saying what others won’t.

You don’t have to love the post, but pretending it’s some crisis while the country faces real challenges is just unserious. This is a president who speaks directly, and in today’s world, that’s more honest than most.

You never consider that he too often says the wrong thing. Freedom of speech is valid but publically denigrating public entertainers is puerile at best, particularly regarding the office that Trump holds. A higher standard of engagement is expected.

You love the man to death, and your apologetic  oratory is truly remarkable, Sharlee,so I won't challenge you. But support of him  and what he utters all of the time constitutes so much rubbish all the same.
