Mr. President, this is any of your business? How?

Next, he will be telling me what toothpaste I need to buy or else….

Ask him to focus on areas that duly concern him, instead. Who can explain this?

I might have agreed with you...but I feel the same way as our President.  The name change was never anything but an attempt to appease a few fools that claimed the name made them feel bad (as Indians disagreed with them).  We have gone way too far down that road, trying to appease everyone with their personal feelings, and it is causing harm (witness the destruction of our history in Southern areas).

Well, I guess that I have to disagree with both you and Mr. Trump.

It is funny how conservatives want to protect the heritage as demanded by southerners who have never acknowledge that the Civil War is over. They wanting an honored placed in the public square for their treasonous, traitorous political and military leaders of the Confederacy. Never mind the fact that blacks living there do not appreciate giving honor to such a terrible regime. Their complaints are dismissed as “political correctness” while the whites concerns are seen as legitimate retention of national heritage. Hmmm…
How do we explain that difference?

Yet when we talk about dignity and respect for Native Americans and people who are sensitive enough not to denigrate them in naming a nationally renowned sports team, that too is just “political correctness”?

I see no difference between Trumps rants about political correctness regarding using denigrating Native American terms in sports teams and his embracing as heritage traitors and insurrectionists from the Confederacy

But, knowing Trump and the common conservative mindset, I can probably guess what the basis of that distinction would be.

Outside of all of that, since when can Trump dictate the name of any team, what right does he have to interfere in the process and make a threat? this is still not any of his business, he, as usual, operates at the very height of arrogance.

He continues to give me more and more reasons to dislike him intently.

Again, it was my understanding back when the Redskins changed their name that Indians in general were NOT in favor of it.  They found the name to be a compliment, not derogatory in any sense.  It was just a handful of people not actually involved at all that were screaming about it.

And that's what I see in nearly all these kinds of things; a small handful of people with loud voices that whine their feelings are hurt.

Trump has the same right to complain about the name that you do.  Or those that demanded it be changed in the first place.  It was never the "business" of those busybodies any more than it is Trump's "business" now.

LOL  You don't need any more reasons to hat Trump; it could not grow any more anyway.

I had not realized that some Brandon-appointed federal judge had outlawed Trumps ability to state his opinion on things that everyone else has the right to comment about. I guess I need to watch CNN.

Naw - just the far left haters that would deny him his rights.  No judge.

But he's not only complaining. He is threatening to prevent the new stadium.

Bingo, thank you, Island bites. It’s about a lot more than just complaining. Just how much of a mutton head do you have to be not to see that? It’s not that much different from that Gulf of America nonsense he was talking about months before.

Just how much of a mutton head to you have to be to think that Trump can stop the city from building a stadium?  He has nothing to do with it.

“The president also threatened to block a complicated deal for the Commanders to return to a stadium in Washington, D.C., unless they return to the name "Washington Redskins."

If he CANT do it, what is with the threat?

You really haven't figured out that Trump (as with all politicians) will make myriad promises and threats that they haven't a chance of making happen?  You really haven't?

(Hint: a threat is often sufficient...if enough people believe it)

As far as I've read he is NOT "preventing" a new stadium.  It seems he DID threaten to "not make a deal" for one...but then no one needs him to build one.

So yes, you agree. He did threaten them.

                Also,

" to think that Trump can stop the city from building a stadium"

The problems is that HE THINKS he can. And how many are complying to his threats?

Whatever, why bother. New excuses in 3, 2, 1...

                Btw,

The Commanders hope to build a new stadium in Washington, D.C., at the site of RFK Stadium. The deal is complicated: The stadium sits on federal land, but Congress in January granted the city control over the land for 99 years, clearing the way for the property to be redeveloped. City councilors still need to approve the redevelopment plan.

Yes, I read the paragraph on what it takes.  Nowhere is there even a hint that Trump needs to "make a deal" (his threat) to get it done.  An empty threat, then, like so many are.

(I don't see a problem in what Trump thinks he can or cannot do.  Only in what he actually does or does not.)

Does he just not have anything else to do?

    or worse

What is not getting done because he is spending time and energy on this?

I guess he could go to the beach in Delaware and fall over a lawn chair. Oh wait, that was the last guy.
