Why do so many more people watch Fox News than any other new outlet?

Fox News Digital dominates all news brands in key metrics during August
Fox News crushed other outlets on YouTube with a staggering 386 million views

Fox News Digital dominated all news brands across key measurables, social media and YouTube during August as Americans continued to rely on the platform for critical information and analysis.

The month of August featured a historic summit between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Trump administration deploying National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announcing their engagement, Paramount and Skydance completing an $8 billion merger, and other headline-grabbing stories.

Along the way, Fox News Digital finished atop key categories among the competitive news set that includes The New York Times, CNN, CBS News, NBC News, ABC News, The Washington Post, USA Today and others.

Isn't it interesting that all the liberal news agencies together can't have better ratings than Fox News?

Mike, it really is telling, isn’t it? For all the hype the liberal media tries to generate, people are voting with their remotes and turning away in droves. Fox continues to dominate because it speaks to issues that actually matter to everyday Americans, while the left-leaning outlets are stuck pushing narratives that feel more like propaganda than news. The fact that all of them combined can’t match Fox says a lot about where trust and interest really lie.

I think a big part of it comes down to psychology. People can only take so much constant negativity, doom, and twisted outlooks before it wears them down. When every story is framed as a crisis, when everything is presented through a lens of outrage or division, it doesn’t inform people,it exhausts them. At a certain point, viewers start to feel like they’re being manipulated, even brainwashed, into accepting one narrative. That’s when they tune out and go looking for an alternative.

Fox offers a counter to that. Whether you agree with every point or not, at least it doesn’t treat its audience like they can’t think for themselves. That, to me, explains why Fox consistently outperforms the others; people are sick of being talked down to, lectured, and spun around in circles. They’d rather watch something that feels closer to reality than an endless cycle of negativity.

I am pleased to see the demise of the left media, and nothing says it better than ratings that continue to decline.

So, what are your thoughts on the decline? The left media have been going downhill for a couple of years. But they are on life support now.

        Shar,

Unfortunately, there will always be an audience for the left wing media.

I see them changing out of necessity in order to survive.  They may even commit acts of journalism.

In order to survive they will have to find a way to appeal to a conservative audience.

If no, they will be done.

We'll see who will change and survive and who won't and will be gone.

Mike,  I think you’re right, but one thing is easy to see: the left-leaning cable shows are bleeding viewers, and at the end of the day, the bottom line is money. Ratings drop, advertisers leave, and losses mount. That’s why we’ve seen hosts fired from left-leaning outlets; it’s a clear signal they’re realizing they have a choice: either try to appeal to the majority of viewers or cling to a shrinking minority and keep hemorrhaging money. If they keep ignoring the audience, eventually they’ll have no choice but to close shop. It’s not just about ideology; it’s business, and the numbers don’t lie.  And only a small minority likes the ideologies they serve up.
