OK this bill MIGHT have SOME supporters, but Sarah Palin is a lunatic with NO credibility and NO political future. Palin wants to prove that she is American by keeping foreigners out and that's it.

I wonder how you can say that especially after seeing the performance of Holder and Napolitano, neither of which read the bill. I wouldn't be surprised if no one including Obama read the AZ bill and I'd be willing to bet Palin did. I'd have to say on this issue Palin possess more credibility than the administration and perhaps even more than you. Have you read the bill?

The AZ immigration Law is 10 pages long ,check it out on foxnews.com/yourworld The public is being fed all kinds of inaccuracies by the press, President  OBAMA, Union activists, and other Radical groups. Attorney General Holder made all kinds of comments when the AZ SB1070 was signed into law. Guess what ! Erick holder admitted before a government judicial committee on 5/13/10 that he did not read the bill ( 10 pages ) as yet.I guess that's the way our elected officials do it in Washington, they read all the propaganda that the free press puts out to help them make decisions..

As head of the Justice Department, Holder has over 100,000 employees working for him. I suspect that if he did't read teh bill personally someone with expertise in that area of law DID read  it and do the research to brief  Holder.

Ewall you would say go to foxnews to check it out but the law is being use to racially profile. There's no way a white person is going to be asked for his papers it will only be latinos who may be citizens but because of reasonable suspicion they will be targeted.

Okay sarah palin is a joke why does she not get interviewed by someone like rachel maddow since she made a comment about her recently.Does she not want to be thought of as a nominee for president even though she only is in the business of inciting dangerous rhetoric.

Sorry, folks. But Sarah Palin has more guts than anybody else on this board. She ran for public office in a small town and rose to governor. She doesn't dodge a fight. And her knowledge on national and foreign affairs is equal to Obama's -- our resident community-organizer-in-chief.
Palin wouldn't make a good President. In fact, we haven't had a real governing President since JFK. But Palin is a force in politics. Hopefully she can rally a brain dead American public to stop this socialistic drama.

she's a hazard, and has no clue about foriegn affairs, and lies on top of that. It scares me she's coming back to Az.

When Sarah Palin made her famous 'death panel' statement about  the health care bill - she was factually wrong in every clause. The statement was designed to terrorize seniors about the intent and effect of the bill. She'a a despicable liar.

      1. TMMason profile image60
TMMasonposted 13 years agoin reply to this

That panel exists in the HC Law, actually. If you had read it you would know that.

It is a creation of Cass Sunstien. It will weigh the economic cost of your life continuance, against the productive quality potential. It is nothing new. England has a Dept that specailizes in determining who and what gets done for what and who.

        Not so far fetched Doug.

"The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's "death panel" so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their "level of productivity in society," whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil." [5]

The accuracy of Palin's comment was disputed by every impartial fact-checking organization who researched Section 1233 of HR 3200, the House version of health care reform. In a huge bill, Palin finds fault with the one section that allows payment to Medicare doctors for voluntary end-of-life counselling. Let me explain 'voluntary' - nothing in the bill requires the doctor to offer the consultation - and nothing requires the patient accept if the consultation is offered. Section 1233 lists topics that must be included the discussion in order to qualify for payment, including the living will and advance directives.

Sarah Palin's facebook claim (Aug 12) in defense of her original claim does not dispute:

                 1) There are no 'death panels'.

                 2) Her child with Down Syndrome wouldn't be affected.
(until 2074 when he qualifies for Medicare)

                 3) There are no 'bureaucrats' anywhere in Section 1233 -
only a doctor and patient in consultation.

                 4) There's no subjective judgement of anybody's
                        'level of production in society'.

Read SP's defense of the original infamous 'death panel' quote and you can see not a single phrase of the original statement can be defended. In true wingnut style she defends what she said by changing the original accusation completely - because all factcheck orgs found the original claim completely false!  A lot of seniors are still convince the government wants to kill them.

              Read it yourself -

I'm still waiting for TMMason to cite the particular section of the bill where death panels are specifically outlined.

Seeing how it doesn't exist, it seems I will be waiting for the rest of eternity.

Jon Ewall is the voice of logic and reason.

So many people are bashing this Arizona Law when all it does is put enforcement into the existing laws.  They are uneducated and know nothing about it.

Why would any true American Citizen be against protecting our country?

On one hand you have people all riled up over Muslims and Osama Bin Laden (Who Dan Rather can interview, but the collective intelligence of the United States Military can not seem to locate).  They scream 911 and support the untold Billions thrown at the "War" in the name of 911.

Then when posed with the simple reality that 15-20 Million people walked right into the country and are living here illegally they shout racism when the people of the State of Arizona try to enforce existing laws.

Makes no sense at all. If 15-20 Million people can walk right across the boarder and set up shop illegally you think it makes sense to spend Billions each month "Protecting" us from the "Bad Guys".  What a joke.

If you can't secure the boarders you can't stop terrorism.  It's just that simple.

    Illegal is NOT a race.

And to anyone who does not want to secure our borders, then it's ridiculous to support a War against anyone.

Too bad our elected officials in DC choose not to read the bill.  Maybe the length is just too much.  I mean at 10 pages that is quite a bit of reading for such busy people. It just makes me wonder, how on earth did they get the time to read the Health Care Bill that was 2409 pages?

    1. leeberttea profile image56
leebertteaposted 13 years agoin reply to this

On no. They read the bill! The problem is they can't admit that they read the bill, because then they wouldn't be able to attack it. You see, after reading the bill they realized there is nothing in it that is unconstitutional. The problem then is how can you attack a law that is legal and right and written in response to the failure of the feds to enforce existing law?
They can't so they claim they haven't read it so that they can continue to attack it, and they have plausible deniability.

Summary of Federal Immigration and Nationality Act Section 8 USC 1324
"Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."
Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):
A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:
assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or
encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or
knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.
Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime. Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his or her work authorization status is guilty of a misdemeanor. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief.

TAKE NOTE WHO IS MAKING THE MOST NOISE ABOUT THE AZ LAW. LABOR, AFL-CIO,TEACHERS,SEIU ,LA RAZA AND OTHER RADICAL GROUPS INCLUDING ELECTED OFFICIALS OF OUR GOVERNMENT.

HUBBERS TAKE NOTE OF MEXICAN LAW
If you break the Mexican illegal immigrant law. First offense 2years in jail Second offense 10 years in jail I would venture to say that there are not many with 10 year terms.

In the US,ICE if they don't release the illegals they send the illegals back to the border ( many try getting back in often )
THE ARIZONA LAW BS 1070 TAKES EFFECT ON JULY 29TH As President Obama said '' Adios Amigos ''

At least 9 members of the Obama administration who have made comment of Arizona Immigration Law SB 1070 admitted that they did not read the law.I guess not reading the law is the norm for President Obama and Congress.
