I don't know about you, but I'm getting really sick of hearing "the Left HATES FREEDOM."
Followed closely by "the Left hates AMERICA."
What's the most annoying accusation you've heard about your chosen political affiliation?
That there's really much difference between either one of them when the facts of the matter are that debt based fiat currency via international banking is what controls this place, that, and a completely monopolized media that controls the flow of information; and more accurately, "disinformation."
Anarchists - we all want to destroy everything and kill people.
Really we just want the inefficient government out of the way. People should be free because 1) it's moral, and 2) it's the most efficient way of allocating resources.
Thanks for your comment, Evan. I must admit I think Anarchists are not clearly understood. People hear the word "Anarchy" and think violence and chaos.
There's even a TV show called "Sons of Anarchy" (I have not watched it but my son loves it).
So the perception that Anarchists want to destroy everything and kill people is based on misinformation, not intentional lies.
In addition to what you wrote, MM, I would say that myth that Democrats want the government to control everything and destroy free enterprise.
Maybe Evan will admit that he's been operating under this misconception...
An oil man quoted- America is addicted to oil
"The terrorists never stop thinking about ways to kill Americans... And neither do we."
GW Bush
Democrats don't want to destroy free enterprise, and they don't want to control everything..
... it just so happens that their beliefs end up doing such things as an unintended consequence.
They don't WANT to do these things, they just happen to occur when "medicare" and "gun restrictions" and the like come about.
No, not true in all cases. In some cases, sure. But you're equally guilty of ignoring facts that don't fit your preferred ideology. Reality tends to be too complex to demand a one-size-fits-all solution.

MM where are you hearing those accusations of the left?
When President Obama was campaigning ,all he ever spoke of was how the right ( Republicans) were the problem.
Please enlighten me, awaiting a reply.
Here are quotes and links of some famous people and everyday people discussing directly or indirectly how the left hates America, the left hates everyone, etc...
Be honest sir.

“While the form of treachery varies slightly from case to case, liberals always manage to take the position that most undermines American security.”
Ann Coulter
Liberals hate America, they hate flag-wavers, they hate abortion opponents, they hate all religions except Islam, post 9/11. Even Islamic terrorists don't hate America like liberals do.
Also Ann Coulter
"I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today." –on why people who lost their homes in forest fires in California had it coming, "The Glenn Beck Program," Oct. 22, 2007

Read just about any political forum here that stays alive long enough to get posts from certain hubbers (you can do the same with the religious topics too, there are it seems re-occuring insults bandied back and forth, same insult but other side more times then you can shake a stick at)
Their biggest lie remains as good as ever: "We are at the service of the people".
...that's a good one...no matter where you live, affiliation or level of gov't
That all Republicans are callous and don't care about the poor. That all Republicans are racists. That all Republicans are rich. That all Republicans are backward hicks. That all Republicans are FOX News addicts. That all Republicans want to overturn Roe v Wade. That all Republicans are closed-minded. That all Republicans think evolution is a fallacy. That all Republicans are homophobics.
That they are more fair than any other political party.
They all have liers in their midst.
Jon Ewall,
In response to your question. I hear both of those accusations about "the left" on a regular basis here on these forums.
They are a stock answer from one hubber in particular.
She has not posted to this particular thread, but I am sure others who have posted here will recognize the person I am referring to.
Another one I just love is "Tax and Spend"
Particularly in the wake of "Spend without taxing" Bush, that one kinda cracks me up. Also cracks me up as a citizen of California where our old/new Governor Jerry Brown (D) is slashing and burning government and spending. Had to be done.
The biggest lie about my party.
So many its hard to pick one.
My favorite lie from the democrats is that they don't hate freedom.
My favourite lie is "My favorite lie from the democrats is that they don't hate freedom."
My favorite lie is "My favourite lie"is "My favorite lie from the democrats is that they don't hate freedom."
My favourite lie is my favourite lie is . . . ah fuggit.
Yeah, I admit, but I still have to say that my favourite lie is my favourite lie is . . .
My favorite lie from the republicans is that they want freedom. It is freedom for some people to be accurate. Not those who do not believe the same things.
or the ones about the Constitution.
Dude- if you believe we should change the 14th amendment you are not for the Constitution.
You can't change it when it suits you just like you can't ignore that half of the country doesn't agree with the tea party/republicans entirely.
I'm not part of any political Party, but am an Independent. I guess if we have to be 'labeled' for the sake of this question, I would be considered a Conservative. So the lies that is often told about Conservatives? We hate, and don't care about the poor.
megs-- Those ann coulter quotes are sinister. We don't hear much about her anymore, do we?
You know, the label of "freedom haters" is so ridiculous on both sides (although to be honest, you don't often hear Ds accuse Rs and TPers of that).
As much as some people think (wish)we could return America to the good old days of our founding fathers, that is simply not possible. Black and white, all-or-nothing, we're right and they hate freedom is not a productive mindset when dealing with the complexities of our society and America's place in a global economy/community.
"You know, the label of "freedom haters" is so ridiculous on both sides (although to be honest, you don't often hear Ds accuse Rs and TPers of that)."
Because it would be hypocritical.
No Jim, it would not be hypocritical.
Democrats do not level that accusation against Republicans or Tea Partiers because we don't believe that they "hate freedom."
When Rs and TPs say it to Ds it is not a matter of the "pot calling the kettle black."
You guys don't hate freedom.
Nor do we.
As much as I would love to believe that I just can't
Your side try's to take our liberties away at every opportunity.
We can't have the freedom to not purchase health care.
We can't have the freedom to own firearms without unlimited access to our private lives. That by the way worked real well in Arizona recently.
We know what the left wants and it gets rejected every time.
No matter how many times you deny it we know its true.

We have two major political parties that would seem to stop at nothing to get or keep power. This was highlighted to me when my son and I went to see The Campaign. Who do you feel is the least scrupulous? Please try and be non-partisan here(joke of the day).

I listened to various commentators on various TV stations after The Vote. One of them (on MSNBC) explained that Democrats DO NOT like rules. Republicans DO like rules and love setting them. Dems not so much. Yes?
