Obama's numbers particularly on the economy are just dissmal! He has been making every effort to blame congress and to be sure I agree they are responsible. That said, democrats (read
liberals) have been in control of congress since 2006 and only lost their majority in the house in the ladt election so there is no doubt democrats and the president OWN this mess! The question is what will they do about it? Obama said the time to act is now, no more games, no more manufacturered crissis, so will he admit his policies have failed and reverse course and allow free market principles bring us prosperity? Or will he hold fast to his socialist ideology no matter how much destruction it brings upon this country? My guess is its the latter.
So has Obama become irrelevant?  Will anyone even bother to listen to his much hyped speech? I know I won't! We've heard it all before... turns out the genius in chief is really an empty suit, a shill for unions and socialist ideology, a narcissist that can't admit when he is wrong and will blame others for his failures.

I agree......He said yesterday that he will not give his entire plan this week but will unroll it over the fall which means he really doesnt have one......his purpose is to give a few things that congress will refuse so he can blame them......even though his numbers are bad....I see where he will be reelected and then his true ideals will unfold as he will not be campaigning anymore.....even if congress wont pass what he wants he can himself by executive order

Here's his plan... a trillion dollars in stimulys for roads, bridges, and teachers. Investment in high speed rails more money to extend unemployment and blah, blah, blah!
How does extending unemployment oayments create jobs? Ate the unemployed going to hire people to puck up their checks? This man is an idiot! His "plan" is. Transparent as a bay window, its money for unions and the sloths that believe America owes them a living, ots money for votes and the only plan for saving jobs is his plan to save his own job!

Unfortunately, as I pointed out in a blog/article on here, he is being driven by a larger movement and people like Stephen Lerner who called for banks and the economy to fall.....lerner visited the white house 4 times and then 5 months after he called for Chase to be an enemy the DoJ files suit.......Obama is a pawn for a greater movement aimed at the destruction of capitalism and the nation as we know it....He is an idiot as you said and I believe but an idiot with power

He's what the old time communists referred to as a useful idiot, with the power to advance the policies of our own destruction.

But he's still polling ahead of Perry and about even with Romney. It looks right now like the GOP nominee will be Perry. Do Republicans look at these polls? If so, it seems that they'd be backing Mitt instead of Rick.

Which polls? What's the methodology used? I mean lets jyst take partisanship out of the equation and answer this simple question, is the country better off now than before the democrats were handed power? Clearly we are NOT. Even CA has 71% of people saying the country is headed in the wrong direction. This is the direction Obama and the dems have taken us. No sensible, logical, thinking person can justify 4 more years of this leadership.

Regardless of what he does, his numbers will continue to be dismal. And when a new president enters the Oval Office, his/her approval ratings will be high for a short time, then plummet as his predecessor's. Why? Because we are a country divided by every special interest group, every fringe fanatic and every entitlement program. We are a country who elects representatives who are priviledged and entitled above any other American. They represent their own opinions more than the American people. There is no possibility of uniting this country until Americans themselves become more united.

lady_love158posted 6 years ago in reply to this

We need to unite around the simple principles that made us great, self reliance, and personal responsibility. We need to become less dependent on government and we need to limit the role government plays in our society. Government needs to be smaller and returned to the constraints of the constitution. When that happens Americans will be united.

    Another LadyLove meaningless thread. roll

The time is coming for the American people to wake up and the sooner the better. Both republican and democrats(if not all) are corrupted.

None of them are interested in what is best for the citizens, they are only interested in power, wealth and control. Anyone picking either side is part of the willful ignorance killing America.

Btw- The Tea Party? They are no better than what is already in office either. They too are power, wealth and control hungry....and not interested in the people.

Nick Lucasposted 6 years ago in reply to this

The Tea Party is just a grass root group of people making their voice heard......they are made up of repubs, dems, and independents and all races and genders....at the core they simply believe and advocate for the Constituion, free market and fiscal responsibility

Too many people are divided by taking sides of the politicians and this isn't a theory or a philosophy, so take your head out of the sand.

Politicians purposely pit one citizen against another, while they and the corporations of America, carve it up.

Choosing one side or another, over the best interests of citizens, is the problem. Thread like this are meaningless because it continues the divide.

That notion is at once foolish and insulting! Do you think that everyone in America that agrees with one side or the other in a political philisophy is
          incapable of coming
          to their own

thoughtful opinion on the issues? Do you think we're all sheep waiting for our political heroes to tell us how to think? Do you honestly believe we can't on our own understand corporate interests and separate them from our own? Really? How arrogant is that??

          1. Cagsil profile image61
Cagsilposted 6 years ago in reply to this

I'm sure you would see it that way. Nothing new from you.
A bit frustrated? No. But, many are just followers and incapable of using leadership views. Most cannot see beyond themselves. Most are thinking about what is in THEIR best interests and beliefs, and not in the best interest of society.
Thoughtful opinions are just that. However, it doesn't mean that they are well thought out.
Well, many of your posts shows that you are just following along, so many are.
To understand corporate interests is to know what the corporation's agenda is? And, no people who are thinking about themselves and their beliefs have no clue.
It's not arrogance. It's history repeating itself, because the sheep do follow and think, similar to those in power and use their beliefs, to support what is in their own interests and not what is in the interest of society. It's more arrogant of them.

First of all just because certain groups of people think a like, as the sane do, doesnt mean their sheep........also what is your problem with corporate america? without corporations no one would have anything....the money in welfare checks must come from somewhere....

I haven't anything against the corporations of America. My issue is with the UPPER 1% continuing on with it's manipulation of people of society, while government continues it's greedy protection of said companies.

Yes, sane people do have a lot in common with many others, but most cannot see what is in the best interests of society, which your post doesn't seem to touch on, but does talk about ME?

It must be nice for you to create division. You're a perfect example. Thank you.

To explain to you in a forum, would defeat the purpose of all my written hubs on America and not to mention, take way too long of a post to explain.

People like me? I'm trying to get people on the same page. You are trying to create division. You must be proud of yourself.

The fact that you would want to create division before unity, shows you're not interested in anything, except what suits YOU! But, nice try though.

You sound a bit confused! First you say people vote against their own self interests fooled by politicians and corporations into adopting the interests of those entities and in the next breath you say people are only acting in their own selfish interests... which is it? I don't think you have a clue! But you do reveal a bit about your thinking when you talk about people doing whats best for society.... you're a socialist, obviously. Only you and your fellow like thinking individuals KNOW whats best for "society" and individuals acting in their own interests are a threat to your "vision" of what the collective could be! It never occurs to you that millions acting in their own interest might actually be whats best for "society".

Ineptitude? I didn't say that they vote against their own self interest. You misread what was said. Again, nothing new from you. You love to twist things. People vote for what they are told and then politicians do something completely different when actually elected. If that isn't proof that people are fooled, then I don't what is. People elect politicians based on what suits themselves and what politicians align with their beliefs. Which is wrong. It's wrong, because it's not considering others, even if they think it is. They are not acknowledging their own inability to understand the best interest of society, which is them being dishonest and dependent on politicians for it. More self-awareness would go a long way.

Really? I wonder how expansive is your reading? Who do you blame? Does Obama's own words, actions, and "accomplishments" count for anything? Remember he said this about his health care bill:

"This is an issue that affects the health and financial well-being of every single American and the stability of our entire economy"

Obviously he thought passing this bill would be good for the economy and he got it done. Is that his fault? Can I "blame" him for that?

He also said this declaring the beginning of the end of the recession after passing his stimulus and bailing out the auto companies:

“We know the tough times aren’t over, but we also know that without the steps we have already taken, our troubled economy --and the pain it’s inflicting on North Carolina families --would be much worse.”

Sounds to me like Obama is taking credit for what he did. So can we "blame" him for his confession?

The fact is Obama "accomplished" much of his agenda because he believed that was necessary to save the economy and he took credit for it so he must also take responsibility for it when it doesn't work out as he expected or as it first appeared, right? I mean trying to blame his poor results on republicans or the tea party just isn't right!

u have point....tea parties and republicans are doing what they are supposed to do and that is make life difficult for president ...when obama is gone and they are in office , even they would have difficult life ..blaming them is not right way out...in end politicians do nothing when on job and make lives difficult for rivals when out of job...that is their role...i guess obama should focus on making things right or else 2012 would have obama snubbed by his own party to get re election...

Obama isn't interested in doing what's right for the country, he's focused on what he can do to keep his job! The man hasn't stopped campaigning since he first ran for the office.
