In North Carolina Federal agents are inspecting the lunches, prepared by parents, of day care children to ensure they meet federal nutritional guidelines. I kid you not! All part of Michelle Obama's 'No Child Left Alone' initiative. When are we going to wake up and see how far we've fallen?
If you're sick your government intruding on your freedom, then quit voting for it.
Ron Paul 2012: "Even if he wins, the vote tally will say he didn't"
If he wins, say goodbye to the 4th amendment.
LMC: the 4th is already gone.
REMEMBER HOW OBAMA SIGNED THE NDAA?
Yeah - that happened. The entire constitution was killed by Obama.
Don't you even act like you care.
Riiight. Cause you know the Patriot Act and Total Information Awareness Network NEVER happened.......Obama killed the Constitution.
Bulloney. He used what Bushco gave him. You don't like it, should have spoken up then.
Oh, and btw---I DID speak up then. And was told to shut up...cause "our president can do what he wants."
Well-I realize that you people thought you would have R's for prez in perpetuity. But it didn't work out that way.
Now you live with that policy that you loved so much back then.
The NDAA is much worse that the PATRIOT act
Obama signed the PATRIOT Act back into law.
Deal with it
That is absolutely crazy. Governmental regulations are tightening every day and people are allowing it. I live in North Carolina and may start packing my son's lunch just to make a stand. Last summer I had to get a doctor's note so he could have WATER at snack and lunch. All they were allowed was milk because of state nutritional programs. These things happen because more and more people do not want to take responsibility for their actions or their children. Every time I think I can no longer be shocked, I am mistaken.
Is this true?
Wow. Just too much interference.
How do you feel about Santorum not wanting me to have sex?
Oh Got it!! was trying to remember the word he used for it..
Libertine! He said birth control promotes Libertine behavior....!!!
....I noticed a few people speculating on whether he is Opus Dei.....I wonder now too.
We are all "children", needing "help" from the great all-knowing politicians to help us avoid the pitfalls of life. Like a PBJ. None are capable of making the right decisions through our life except, of course, for the do-gooders that understand what is best for us all.
There will always be those that know better than we do how we should live; the sad part is that we, as a group, cave in to their demands to act as they think we should. We have become a true nanny state.
This happened to me at a private day care too...I was offended!
BUT....if you want welfare recipients drug tested, and abortion seekers probed.....why should YOU get a break on kids food, when it is a gvt daycare?
Private intrusions upon liberty can only be done if you agree to them ahead of time.
Public intrusions upon liberty happen whenever those with power feel like it.
Eh, wrong! The owner took it upon herself to slip a note in my kids lunchbox as to what she deemed appropriate food.
I didn't ask for her opinion, nor did I want it.
No, actually I'm right. You voluntarily associated with that individual, and you now have the option to stop associating with her.
You argued that "buying things at a store with money you earn from your job" wasn't capitalism, and that if a transaction involves "profits" it isn't capitalism.
I think you can't win this argument at all.
Huh?
You said only a gvt run org can intrude on you.
I say the private intrusion is just as bad....if not worse.
SHE could have just kicked my kid out.....a gvt run place would have had to do it by policy, and might not have won.
Only a government can use violence against you with impunity.
A private individual is responsible for his actions. Putting a note in your lunchbox isn't really an intrusion against your liberty
... it's a sheet of paper in a lunchbox....
Yes, it is quite gestapoesque. Between this and Obama's attack on churches. And many other things. I hope this wakes up the independents and all those others who aren't raving Democrats. We might have a chance of not only kicking Obama out of the WH, we might also attain a majority in the Senate and keep the House.
Who is "we"? Cause if you think GOP is Independent, you are raving!
"Republicans now pushing a bill that would allow employers and insurance companies to pick and choose which health benefits to provide based simply on executives' personal moral beliefs."
Quite gestapoesque, I agree! And worse than a nanny state....a church state!
A post at Fox Insider notes the "North Carolina representative called the school which apologized, because in fact the lunch did meet all the USDA requirements."

These regulations have always been in effect for school districts that received govt money for their food programs in the past. Someone didn't know what their job duties were and went way overboard.
Of course. Then Limburger Cheese puts it on is web site and blasts it on his radio and all the righty talkers do the same...and voila! A mountain out of a mole hill. BUT..the REAL intrusion of business owners denying you insurance coverage because you are morally beneath them....that is ignored.
It is a good initiative since we are number 1 in obesity! Maybe most of us need a regulator!
Whoa! I googled, and sure 'nuff:
"Santorum is also pegged as a possible member. In 2002, Santorum attended an Opus Dei event in Rome, during which he attacked President John F. Kennedy’s famous 1960 endorsement of church-state separation. Santorum said the Kennedy vow not to enforce Catholic doctrine through civil law has caused “much harm in America” and went on to describe President George W. Bush, a Methodist, as the nation’s first true Catholic president."
Oh Goooooood...another GW supporter! No WONDER he leaves Bush out of all the mess he created!
God God GOD. NO.
Keep your creepiness out of our country! Geeeeeeeez
2 Protestors tazed and arrested at Santorum rally:
"About four police dragged one unnamed young man to the ground and while the man’s hands were behind his back they started to drag him and tazed him. It did not seem necessary to taze him as he was not resisting. He was well apprehended at the time of the tazing. They put the cuffs on him and dragged him along the floor away from the venue, while the crowd of Santorum supporters were chanting U.S.A. U.S.A. U.S.A.
Just then, the Santorum supporters started to grab Lapinski and Nathan and their camera equipment and were yelling at them. They were calling them names “you filth, you filth.” One woman shouted “when you lay dying you will think about this and you will know you are going to hell.”
Russsshhhhhh---will this be front page on your web-site as the feds-checking-food "scandal" was?
Cripes....it's starting again...the claws around the throat.
"As many of you probably know...the Mariana islands (territories of the US) has had a long running dispute with the US over labor/sweatshop issues...and other things like forced abortions.
Jack Abramoff was hired by the islands to defeat any legislation that would impinge their garment industry. Jack went and bribed (or had his client bribe) a lot of politicians to keep this from happening.
Among the politicians Jack met with, was Rick Santorum.
http://www.balloon-juice.com/2011/12...-for-that-guy/
In this effort, Rick Santorum was one of Jack’s first points of contact
...
Santorum helped Jack win his legislative battle. He was one of the first elected members of Team Abramoff and throughout the rest of his years in Congress he was a reliable supporter of the Saipan Sweatshops. Naturally, he was well paid for this support. Shortly after his meetings with Abramoff, Willie Tan—the sweatshop owner—and some of his employees attended a Santorum fundraiser as part of their Abramoff-organized tour of America for the 1996 GOP Convention
...
According to Open Secrets, Satorum’s FightPAC recieved $5,000 just before the sweatshop owner and his employees went to his fundraiser and another $5,000 just after Abramoff won a Santorum supported legislative victory for his sweatshop dependent clients. Both payments to his PAC were from John Pangelinan, a long-time Tan Family employee."
So, abortion is ok in business, and killing is ok in war, and owning guns-which purpose is to kill-- is a right....but terminating a pregnancy is to be outlawed, and women are moral degenerates?
Geeeee---thanks for reminding me why I hate the GOP years so darn much.
I have no problem dealing with it....
I'll have a problem if a crazy zealot has the wheel.
"Only a government can use violence against you with impunity."
#1 False statement ever seen on HP.
That's funny: last I checked, the US government killed a US citizen without a trial the other month. Obama signed the order.
LOLOL - not only is my statement NOT false, it's easily proved true, while at the same time showing your deity is evil
Koch bros kill people with impunity all the time. As does exxon, bp, proctor and gamble, tobacco co's, etc etc...I just heard today that there is arsenic in baby formula!
And seeing as corporations are people now....I'm waiting for the arrests and prosecutions.
and you should know better.....president can decide who is the enemy...brought to you courtesy of GWB.
And will be for every president from now on...including Saint Paul, the misogynist.

The food companies own America. After searching for an article about the original OP, it's laughable that they replaced a turkey sandwich with school food service chicken nuggets. There is very little chicken in a chicken nugget, unless you believe that mechanically separated chicken is actually food.

Not that I'm complaining but the schools are taking no child left behind to another level. My little boy didn't pass some of his subject's all year long but they passed him anyway with no summer school because he scored advanced level on all his end of year test. How does that work.?
