I have just been scrolling through my google plus and saw the announcements and comments about Israel being an independant state for 64 yrs now.
In the midst of such turmoil that exists in the Middle East one has to say that is quite an achievement. However there are many conflicting thoughts on the State of Israel, but for me whether the Israelis are Jewish, Arabic,or Christian I wish them and their neighbours in the Palestinian Territories one day at least of Peace.
Thanks for the reminder! As a stamp collector having the first issues of Israel, I salute your freedom!

Palestinians are hoping to get their own state recognised by the UN. The only country with veto power that has said that they would use it is US. Even though Obama and Bush before both stated that they would back a state bid by Palestine. So why this double standard?

I support a sustainable two state solution that both can live with. I hope such a thing exists.
